New Forum for EACH Region

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to include a Real Estate thread in each of the regional forums. The market, especially in its current condition, needs to be addressed in each region. It isn't politics or current events, per say, but an important venue where members can comment on their OWN region. I've had comments and the consensus is positive. Making it a Sticky would be good, too.

If all you want are threads on the subject, you don't need to request it here, you or one of the others who's interested in this just needs to go start the threads in the regional forums and see what happens. I imagine the threads will generate more interest in some areas of the country than others, but after things get going, if people in the various regional forums feel like it's a good reference thread, then someone can request later to make it a sticky. Or are you asking for entire new forums...like a southwest real estate forum, a CA real estate forum, etc?

We have a home buying/selling forum: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/homexfer/all/ which is probably where this topic should be addressed, and it would be a fine subject as long as it steers clear of politics and self-promotion from those in the real-estate business.

I agree with that, Terry. I could not support specific businesses of any kind promoting themselves on DG forums or threads, even in a roundabout way. We have Classified Ads for that.

Don't misunderstand me, please. This is just for certain regions to discuss what's going on in their market. What's going on in Wisconsin could be completely different than the trends in Arizona or Kentucky, etc. Similar to what ecrane mentioned. NO self promotion.

It was just a thought I wanted to throw out there.

Thanks for your time.

If all you want is threads then whoever's interested just needs to start the threads. Terry's got a good point though that it might be better to start some regional threads in the buying & selling a home forum since that's already set up for talking about real-estate related issues so you've got more of a guarantee that people who watch that forum are going to be interested in talking real estate. Some of the regional forums probably tend to stay more focused on gardening and people might not really want to talk real estate there.

Quite true, ecrane & Terry. I read trade journals, receive emails and newsletters all the time about MY region. But to be specific, its better to keep it in that forum than in the regional gardening forums.

Happy Gardening All!
