You sure can! That will free up some space for me, thank you.

I shall try to make it this year. Not sure I'll have much to bring either, but I'll try!

Christi
Still grieving about missing Randy's RU in Houston today and tomorrow.
Okay, I have promised a certain someone in Texas (from Colmesneil, do ya'll still claim her?) that I would be there, so could you welcome an Okie, please???
I am a newbie, to both DG and RUs, so I don't know what I can bring but will start hunting around. Merpeg (Peg)
Would that be Beck? Just like her to share good gardening tips with others! LOL! You are most certainly welcome! You must not be too far north with the zone still 7B. Hope to meet you.
Yes Merpeg, we will be very happy to meet you. Everyone is welcome whichever state they are from, but we will be expecting two other members from Oklahoma, MitchF and Ted.
As we get closer we will be talking about what we do, but basically we meet each other, share plants, eat and have a lot of fun.
Josephine.
Yippee!!!! I have been waiting for you to bring this ol thread back to life Josephine!! I will be there also.. that is if the same thing doesn't happen here like Cristi said!!LOL I am excited to see and meet ya'll!!
Yay.. Peg!! I am soo glad you are committing!! I can't wait to meet you.. I already luv ya.. you know that!!
Now.. I have to see what I can get together.. ya'll know I am still a newbie too.. but maybe I will have some things ya'll just can't live without..hehe
Becky
Becky, it is great to hear that you will be coming, and I hope Charlene will too.
I don't know why you say that you don't have much, if I remember correctly, you had a lot of plants the last time I saw you.
And besides, lots of plants is not really the point, the point is to get together and have a good time, the plants are just a bonus.
Also I would like to mention that I am very happy to trade plants for potting soil or perlite if someone wants my plant but has no plants to offer. This works great for me because I grow a lot plants and use a lot of soil.
Josephine.
You know I'm IN, Josephine. :-)
Carla
Looking forward to the Arlington RU. I hope I can remember all your names!(screen and proper)
Don't know yet Josephine...comitted to family outting that week. Will keep fingers crossed can do both...taking the grandbabies to Holly Ranch Lake that week, will see if the kids want to come back a day earlier....

I hope so, I haven't seen you for a while.
Josephine.
Yea, PEG! I'm sooo glad you're coming!
Pattie, I so want to meet you in person! I just wish I had half of your organization skills....and all of your hostas... but for a newbie, I'm doing okay! :))
The RUs are always a good thing I've heard from Beck. The first one she went to, sooo long ago, tee, hee, I was trying to go and could not make it. Believe me, she has told me, and everybody, what we missed. So I kinda promised her if this went on in Arlington, I would be there...
I am so looking forward to this. I'll be the lady floating about 2 feet off of the ground, because I'm getting to finally meet all of you great people :)))
Thanks, everybody, for such a nice welcome! Peg
Ohh Peg I want to meet you too!
Oh, Sylvia,
I had already thought about making a Spring trip just to meet you and get more (gulp) hostas for a new bed. So, this way, I'll get to meet you before then, (and still will plan my shopping trip for later! :) Yippeee!! Peg
Now I know why I was mixed up about the date...hope no one else was/is....From Maggimoo's Sticky...

Well, I guess she was confused or typed a 2 instead of a 1, I will let her know to change it.
No harm done, but thank you for bringing it to our attention.
Josephine.
Hello Everyone, it seems that a lot of people want to attend the Arlington and the Tyler R.Us.
But having them in two consecutive weeks is very hard, so I was wondering if you guys might be agreeable to changing our date to the 25th.
I can go with whatever you guys decide, please let me know.
Josephine.
Josephine, before we take a vote, is the park still available on both dates?
I don't have anything else currently scheduled for either day, so a change is fine with me!
Jennifer
Pattie, I don't know, but I will check tomorrow.
Josephine.
Josephine..
Phyllis is also considering moving the date since some were wanting only 1 week apart for the 2 RU's.. Maybe you could get with her, and decide.. I would hate for you both to change the dates.. and then be on the "same" date!!..LOL
Just a thought!!
Becky
I like the 18th better, myself. Besides, since the Arlington swap is the more longstanding of the two, shouldn't Tyler be the one to change their date? I have a feeling this year's swap will be the "big one".
TJ ... shut your mouth... ;)
I like the 18th better. The 25th is really pushing it for us in the outskirts of the city where it gets colder sooner. It usually takes me several weeks to get something planted and I want stuff to get established before the cold hits.
I cannot make it on the 25th - have to be in Tulsa that date for my schooling.
this one is NOT changing ...Josephine set this one back in Feb and I have already told her to keep it as is!!!
None of this is meant in anyway to cause a division or split up friendships between anyone in Texas
Gas Prices are making a big cut into pockets and limiting where and when some can go.
It's great to be able to see everyone and get plants but I also like to be able to put faces with names and meet in person so if we can't be at both this fall then we figure something out for next year to have one someplace in the middle.
Of course my subscription is coming due next month so I can just let it expire then I'll be out of the picture as I know you can't make everyone happy all the time.
that is my 2 cents and I know it isn't worth much
I think this issue may have been taken personally as a challenge between the two RU's attendance, and it shouldn't be. Don't you dare let your subscription expire! You are doing something for our region, which happens to be East Texas. This should not even be an issue as far as the general planning is going, as it is up to each person to just decide what they want to do. It would be impossible to plan every get together or RU so that everyone from every region could attend all RU's, it's just not always feasible.

Deep breaths, Mibus. Don't do anything rash :0) Take some it off your shoulders if it's just too much. But leaving DG not an option for you missy.lol
Mid October is the ideal time for an RU in Texas. I can foresee a time when they maybe on the same date. I would hate to choose, but ultimately the RUs are for people in "their" area and seems appropriate
that the host of their area has the last say after the votes. Like a true democracy.lol I'm lucky to be between the two cities ;0) and will happily go where ever you'll have me!
I don't see why any dates should change this year. Even with weeks between them, It seems like 90 percent of the people at the ETRU were not at the ARU and vise-versa. I don't think any dates or RUs should be changed, canceled or combined period. They are too big of a driving convenience to those that live in their area. And guessing this is why Dave didn't see it as being a big deal to have it on the same day. I know the dates are not chosen to leave anyone out, just the opposite. I see this as growing pains, as DG grows exponentially there will only be more RUs in localized areas. We've had good cooperation in getting trades back to those who can't make it. I can't make them all, yet. I do see it as a good thing, the more RUs we have the more people show who couldn't have come otherwise...the more love and plants we can spread around our great State ;0)
I love and appreciate the organizers who give their heartfelt most at trying to make everyone 100 percent happy. It's an impossible job, yet pulled off yearly in many places with grace and a good deal of patience. Thank you!
