It's Stuck??

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

I love the 3 cot babiez! I haven't had one with 4, but I think it was Caren, I can't remember who.. someone had 4 cots on a seedling..

Anyway.. I marked the tags last year to see what any difference was.. Here is a pic of a seedling with 3 cots when it made a Y.

edited to add: As the seedlings come up and get big enough to go in their own pots.. I number them as I go... I try to always number the 3 cot seedlings #3 just so it's easier to remember they had 3 cots..

It's a seedling. One of Brenda Delph's crosses from her website last year.. or 2006 anyway.. LOL

Please post pics. of it blooms this season. :-)

Thanks zz ...I am looking forward to seeing what may happen ...will post a pic tomorrow ...I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw three ...and now the four ...has anyone had flowers from the multi-cot seedlings? ...perhaps more flowers on a lower height bush.

Chrissy did you have one with 4 cots? That is VERY interesting! So far, to my knowledge, the 3 cot seedlings have not bloomed in any different type of pattern than the others. The only thing I've noticed is the Y having 3 branches.

Yes I do and I am pretty excited now I know it isn't a virus and it came from the same place yours did, yes it is American ...here it is

And the triple ...they are both from the same pkt which is Ludgers Windsong x New Orlean's Lady ...a couple were white when they came out but went green in a couple of days ...makes me wonder about the lack of sun in the winter over there :)
thanks very much zz for your help :)

Wowzie!!! Look at those babiez coming up! Hello Spring! (although it's summer there). Hey Chrissy.
Kim

I love them and talk to them every day ...they came all the way from seed sprout in Florida ...I was sure they wouldn't grow but here they are starting to come up ...each one has it's own identity, some cot leaves skinny ...some wide ...some a little velvety and some shiny ...but the biggest surprise is the multiple cots, it is so interesting and I can hardly wait to see what may come of them.
Happy Spring (almost ...everyone)

ZZ! I LOVE that 3-banger!!!

Here is the 4 cot baby

The 4 cot baby looks like it is going to produce two separate sets of true leaves, much like Siamese twins. Is it younger than the seedlings growing to either side of it. The cotyledons on the seedlings on either side are so much larger. You'll have to post its progress often.

4 cots! WOW!!!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

What is the cross on that 4Cot baby? I just love it..

Yes it will have Siamese first leaves ...looking every day to see what happens ...it was planted at the same time as the others but came up a few days later than some of the others ...
it was from Ludgers Windsong x New Orleans Lady ...the three cot was also from that same pkt. :) Whew I thought something was wrong and am delighted to find a bit of a mystery ...feeling a bit nervous that something might happen to it now ...and an early Autumn coming on here, excited though and will post pics as we go ...sorry about hijacking the thread I did not mean too, but it could happen to someone else.

How much fun. I have Ludgers Windsong x Mountain Magic, one little one came up yesterday, I was so excited. Waiting for more.
Congratulations all on your little seedlings.

Crazy, more pictures? Yours came up about a week before mine and I want to see what I have to look forward to.

New Orleans Lady is an amazing pollen donor.. I have a nice one from her as the "daddy". Wow.. that is a great cross..

Yes, seems we have hijacked Crazy's thread... I'm sorry for that Linda.

Did you plant the rest of the others Linda? Yes, you know we LOVE baby pics! I bet those lil green ones are getting big.

Had a software crash. Will post pics later today.

crazy4brugs ...how are your seeds going? (and your computer?)
I wanted to say that the little headless wonders still come good sometimes and the little pale ones turn green after some sunshine (sometimes) ...not always of course.
I had about three that were white and they turned green.
Here is a picture of one of my headless seedlings and the 3 cot and the 4 cot moved on into little new homes for a week ...they didn't blink ...I don't feed them at this stage only seaweed tonic to encourage good roots ...I think feeding them too soon temps the insects to want a good munch and because I am an organic gardener it is too hard fending off the critters ...I handpick any little bugs and grubs until they have enough good roots to ensure their survival if sometime feasts on them 3 cot to the left and 4 cot to the right ...headless in the middle growing tiny new leaves.

Sorry my mistake the 3 cot is second to the right of Marie Antoinette (my headless baby) and the 4 is next to it at the right. This is a 3 Y plant that I have purchased and is gearing up to flower

Sorry to say, the 2 white seedlings did die. They just stopped growing and started turning brown and shriveled up. But another seedling from the same cross is green and doing good, so ZZ and jazzpunkin you were right. Here is a pic of the seedlings MyRee.

Next question: I need to move the seedlings to their own light now. Will they still grow good with a temp of 60* instead of the 72* they are at now?

It does seem that Ludger's Windsong is a popular brug to cross with. How big of a plant is it?

ZZ, yes I did plant the rest of the seed after soaking and peeling. One is just starting to sprout.

Thanks, all of you are great!!

Kansasville, WI(Zone 5a)

MyRee here is a picture of the seedlings. Sorry, I can't get the pic, I'll have to work on this.

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

That is ok, pictures are difficult sometimes. I am glad you have some to take pictures of.

Chrissy, My seedlings look much like your picture of the 13th so I guess I will pot them up in their own pots in the next week. I have 14 so far that look nice and healthy. I do have one 3 cot that I am watching.

Thanks to all for the instruction and information. This is great fun.

Marie

Good on you! did you get your 3 cot from a Ludgers x New Orleans lady too? ...if so then I think it must carry the multi cot gene ... I think everyone should have a go at that one :)
Have a happy day everyone !

I got my 3 cot from ahelms. I am just waiting to see what it does.
The plant I got from Seed Sprout Nursery is called 'UCONN Treasure'. For some reason I liked the odd shaped white bloom. I will post pictures when I get a bloom. I have kept it under shoplights for 24 hrs a day the last week and it has responded well, tiny leaves up the stems.
I just went out and looked to make sure I had the right name and 4 more seeds are sprouting. SO EXCITING!
Marie
