How about..
"run, Forest, run!"
Use that one everytime I see a squirrel trying to beat me to cross the road in front of my truck.
Favorite Movie Quote

And in the second one (Pirates)..."You're insane!" "If I wasn't, this would never work."
A Mae West quote, but not sure if it was in a movie: 'I was Snow White, but I drifted.'
'When I'm good, I'm very good, but when I'm bad, ooh, I'm better.' Mae West again.

oh, i loved shirley mcclaine in steel magnolias. i love her when she plays that kind of part. there was a recent movie where she was a crotchety old grandmother. just wonderful.
ouiser said...i'm not crazy, i've just been in a very bad mood for 40 yrs.
and then :
m'lynn: oh ouisier. drum would NEVER point a gun at a lady!
ouiser: OH! he's a real gentleman! i bet he takes the dishes out of the sink before he pees in it!
"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany." Star Wars
"I have to be careful what I shoot at?" Hunt For Red October
"Did I mention I'm the Great Stone Dragon?" Mulan
"Get off the roof, get off the roof." Mulan
"I've forgotten how to fly." "Well. one does." Hook
Shirley Mclain's character also said: 'I'm not as sweet as I used to be'.
FLstu-
' Well, I've talk enough enough about me...now, what do you think about me?' is from 'Beaches' - embarrassed now? ; )
And thank you for reminding me of 'Edwina; back in bowl!' I have used that many a time in my life.
'I had a fahm in Ah-frica'
"All I can say is I hope this isn't a real emergency because I only brought one bottle of vodka."
Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood
"I find your lack of faith disturbing."
Lord Vader
"Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue?"
Airplane
"What we have here is a failure to communiate."
Cool Hand Luke
"I ain’t through with you by a d@** sight. I’ma get medieval on your a@@."
Pulp Fiction (sanitized for your own protection)
These are all quotes used in my daily life...lol my DH who did not grow up in the United States has had to learn them...he still never gets Monty Python
Like someone said "I'll have what she is having" from When Harry met Sally, "An ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure" from Steel Magnolias and I hope this one is ok to add "Opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one and nobody thinks theirs stinks!" from Home for the Holidays. And yep, I say those often, especially the last two! ; )
"I was shy." Splash
"Today my jurisdiction ends here." Silverado
I use them both.
araness, where is your husband from?
there's no place like home. lol
My mother is from here and she doesn't get Monty Python, either. We named our cat after them.
DH is from Chile and missed out on much of our TV and movies. I had to explain I Love Lucy to him...lol I don't think he thinks he has an accent so see's no relationship to Desi.
loooouuuuuu-ceeeeee!! 'splain it to me lucy. i won't do tv again if yall will just let me stay.
most likely i won't do tv again.
Ok, I want to know.............did this come from a movie or was it from a newscast??
"Houston, we have a problem.........."
Regardless, I use that sometimes. :>)
apollo 13, wasn't it? tom hanks. right?
Some really good ones!
Ask yourself; do I feel lucky?" - Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry
"Ahh, the children of the night; what sweet music they make!"- Gary Oldman in Bram Stokers Dracula
"I never drink-wine." -Dracula
"This was not a boating accident!" Jaws
"They mostly come at night. Mostly." Aliens
"As God is my witness! I'll never be hungry again!" Gone With The Wind
"Guess she don't like the cornbread, either." Aliens
and stop calling me Shirley !
Anna, the astronauts said that and we heard it live when they did! I remember worrying they would not get back to earth. The other one I will never forget was hearing him say "the Eagle has landed" and looking up at the moon to see if I could see it! LOL!
Big event at our house too. Remember my Dad kept telling me we were seeing something really special. Of course we took it all for granted.
Just like the kids today with all the stuff they have.
My favorite part in the Apollo 13 movie was when there was a problem and the guys all got out their slide rules. How soon we forget there was a time before calculators.
I just gave my daughter her Dad's slide rule. I couldn't even remember how to use it, but it still has the instruction manual in the case. I bet our mention of it will have some of the younger set googling "sliderule" to see what we are referring to!
But back to fav movie quotes, from Nat'l Lampoon Vacation:
Cousin Vicki: I'm going steady, and I French kiss.
Audrey Griswold: So, everybody does that.
Cousin Vicki: Yeah, but Daddy says I'm the best at it.
I have seen it a million times but it still cracks me up! LOL!
One more from Bridget Jones:
"I truly believe that happiness is possible... even when you're thirty-three and have a bottom the size of two bowling balls."
I usually just refer to having to find jeans the size of 2 bowling balls, but I took it from her!
"We ate pancreas." Ferris Bueller
Oh Ferris is my favorite! This is my fav from that movie "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." I guess I sort of live by it? My brother was staying with me once and he pointed out that if there was nothing on tv I was watching Ferris and he had never seen it so he thought I was nuts--I am I guess? LOL!
Everyone is a little nutty. I think people who CAN'T laugh are the nuttiest! LOL
"Ladies and Gentlemen, you're such a wonderful crowd, we'd like to play a little tune for you. It's one of my personal favorites and I'd like to dedicate it to someone who doesn't think he's seen anything good today."
(freezing rain all day and I am watching Shawshank I have to go see what else Frank Darabont made.)
How often do you really look at a man's shoes?
That's all it takes, really. Pressure and time.
that's my brother from another mother. bernie focker
I can't remember the exact line, but I use the words all the time:
You lousy bastiges! Fargin' iceholes!
from Johnny Dangerously
Fargo, recycled from other places I think--a favorite quote of it's own
"You shoulda seen the other guy!!"
and
"ohhh, yaaah, shurr."
"There's more to life than a little money, ya know. Don'tcha know that? And here ya are. And it's a beautiful day. Well. I just don't understand it."
love that Marge . That is a good quote for everyday use.
"You are a sad, strange little man." Toy Story And..."That's not flying. That's falling...with style."
"I dwell in darkness without you and it went away?" Willow
"It rubs the lotion on it's skin." Silence of the Lambs
Ok, I just got shivers on that last quote.
So will this one...
"I ate his brains with some fava beans and a nice Chianti."
...at least, it did me.
Just watched that movie again after several years. Still just as creepy, but Jodie sure looks young!
