DMail Blasts

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

Good Morning All,

Can anyone tell me how to send a "blast?" I looked to the left at my menu of options but didn't see it if it's there.

Thanks so much,
La

When you go into your mail and click the link to compose a new mail, you'll see the box where you can type in people's usernames, and underneath that you'll see an option to send a blast to one of your groups. If you haven't created any groups, you won't see anything there, you need to make a group first before you send a blast to them

Aha! Thanks ecrane. I was just doing some reasearch through old posts and kept seeing "groups" pop up. I guess now I need to know how to form groups. I'm assuming that option is clearly marked? Am going to go to DMail now and scope it out.

so a blast is just a way to send a message to several people at once?

OK I'm back and feeling a bit inept. How do you form the groups?

Linda I have received a couple of blasts (yes, they were sent to several people at once) but never sent one. I'm trying to figure this out too.

are they used to send timely info mostly?

I think a lot of people use them for things such as round-up or co-op reminders. Anytime you need to send the same information to a specified group of people it would sure save a lot of copy/pasting!

To make a group, go to "My Info", and under "your actions" you'll see an option to manage your friends & groups. Click on that, and you'll see options to make a new group, or edit existing ones. So create your new group here. Then if you know everyone's username that you want to add, you can put them in. Later on, if you want to add people to your group, you can also go to their member page and you'll see a link to add that person to your group.

Thank you!!!!

Quick question: Is it true that you can send a Blast to a group of people, but they cannot "reply to all " unless they create the same group?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

You can't technically reply to all even if you have the same group. If they have the same group, they can send a new blast message to everyone. They can copy and paste the text from the original message as a reference to make it look sort of like a reply, but it's really an entirely new message.

Thanks, Ecrane. That makes it clear.
