My dad made it to 89 also. He died about 4 years ago. I am really luckcy to have had my parents for so long in my life. Even though they divorced 50 years ago we were still a close family.
Where have all the PNWers gone (part 2)
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. It's a crazy thought, isn't it - living as long as that? Divorced 50 years ago - I'll bet then they thought they were pretty old. :-)
My folks celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last November. That one floors me, too. And I think it floors them.
WOW 65 years would be great to achieve. It surprises my husband and I that we've make it 27 years. I just turned 69 so time is flying so fast it is crazy. My husband used to have an aunt that lived in Woodenville. Right up against Bear Creek golf course when it was new.
Wow - that's only about 5 minutes from me. It's changed so much in the 5 years I've lived out here. And, of course, a lot in the 20+ years I've lived in Seattle. But we still have the trees, thank goodness.
I'm thinkin' with 27 years under your belt, the rest is just a hop, skip and a jump. My parents get that look when someone mentions how long they've been married - like they're surprised - like they must have missed the last 20 or something.
Funny how life happens when you're busy . . .
I lived in Seattle from '55 to '87. Ballard, West Seattle and Burien.
So it's changed a lot since you were here then, I suspect. :-)
YES IT'S CHANGED A LOT. THEY HAVE TURNED IT INTO A BEAUTIFUL CITY. I READ A SAYING TODAY ON A TEABAG. ' THE ART OF BEING WISE IS THE ART OF KNOWING WHAT TO OVERLOOK". I LIKE THAT!
Me too!! That's great.
Hey everyone! Sorry I have been absent for so long. I have been crazy busy with school, starting a new job, and wedding planning. Yikes!!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I will be back hopefully tomorrow for a longer catch up reading on how everyone is doing and a post or two!
Amber :)
About time, Amber! When's the wedding?
Yes, when's the wedding?
