Harper's birthday - part 4

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Sue, search Ad-Aware, the personal freeware version, it's free. If you use it every day or two for a while eventually you'll get to where it's a formality, there are no new bugs! (As long as you don't let the two-legged bugs borrow it without a lot of restrictions, lol.) Ad-aware is by lava-soft.

Interesting thing, Carrie, I already have Ad-Aware! I'm trying to have Norton contact me as to what I should do.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hmmmm. I just down-loaded it for the first time on this computer, which has never known IE. 231 spyware cookies, but no real bad guys. Sue, you're turning all my deeply held beliefs upside down! Dear, dear, dear, what should Sue do? I've contacted Lava-soft, they're good, but not instant.

xx, Carrie

Hey everybody. I've been missing DG lately. My son has been doing so much better since I quit DG and really started helping him get his homework done and stay organized. I'll check in when I can!

Sherry, the Africam is great!!

Harper

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Good for you, Harper and good for Sam, too.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yup!!

Primroseue turned us onto the africacam. I just put in the link. So Primrosue deserves the credit.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great to hear, Harper. But don't be a stranger - we miss you!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

BTW, Harper, Happy Birthday! x, Carrie!

I'm still bummed I can't get the Africam to work. I am going to talk to my former tech manager from work tomorrow about it. He is awesome. I used my laptop for some work stuff before I left work for the Great And Joyous World of Retirement, and they had to load some pretty tight security onto my laptop. I suspect that there's a firewall lurking on it that needs to be dealt with.

I use gmail as my primary email and I like it.

I am not a comp wiz. Have you got your internet security cranked up? I cruise around on low. Restricted areas? Get your techie to fix you up.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Thanks Carrie!

I'll do my best to keep in touch Victor.

Happy Birthday Harper!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Speaking of Africam (2/10 post), I got to see a leopard on Friday - what a thrill! They are a rarity. And, if I had been up between 4 and 6 this morning, I would have seen a male lion - even more rare!

Happy day-before-we-have-to-go-back-to-school birthday, Harper! And I ain't "lion"!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Harper - how's the birthday celebration doing? Hope your bithday is still a happy one!! Colin went home after church today until noon tomorrow so i have time to be goofy!! His mother went to Oklahoma on Friday for a week and his father is working the 3-11 shift so Colin will be staying with me. I got time off today for good behavior - yea!!!! It's going to be a long week!! Eleanor

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Good luck, Eleanor! Sounds like you will have your hands full! Enjoy that little guy of yours!

Happy Ongoing Birthday, Harper!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Good luck, Eleanor!

Happy birthday, again, to our Harper.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have fun, Eleanor. Pretty soon you can take him outside again!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

How are you feeling today, Victor? Did your gargle work? So far it's holding for my DH.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Same here. I felt the throat starting again earlier so I repeated it. So far, so good. How about you?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I'm not doing so hot! Fever on and off all day and chest congestion and cough that gives me a headache. It's been 10 days now.....Doctor tomorrow....ugh! Hope you can hold it off!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hope you feel better!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Are you getting sick also Victor?? I hope you guys don't send me any viruses!! If I get sick though it will be because of Colin - he's had a nasty cold but improving. Thanks for wishing me luck - this will be the longest stretch without him going home. His mother had a choice of making one "week-long" trip to Oklahoma or several "three - day" trips. She hates flying, even though she is in the air between Albany and Baltimore all of the time, and chose to go just the one time. I can't wait for him to get outside and play. We are looking at gym/swing sets for the yard. DH didn't want to put one on his lawn but I convinced him that Colin needs something to climb on to keep busy - maybe I can sneek into my garden to work if he is occupied!!!! Eleanor

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Louise - I'm so sorry that you are still not feeling very well. Take care and get to the doctor! Eleanor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've been fighting it off, Eleanor. Both my kids were recently sick.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Eleanor, I was thinking of you and Colin when I wrote today's article! x, Carrie

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Should we start a virus & bacteria thread?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No computer viruses, please.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Having just recovered, I have GREAT sympathy for anyone currently being laid low by flu and colds. Hang in there. We all want you to feel better soon. :-)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Wishing great good health to us all! xx, Carrie

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

DH isn't feeling well and DS is running a fever but says it feels more like Influenza than a regular flu. He should know, he had it 4 yrs. ago so he has a doctors appt. this morning at 11. Not taking any chances this time, last time he missed 16 days of school and dropped 15 pounds!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ooh - hope he feels better. Flu can be really awful.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Me, too.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.

For all of you who aren't feeling well, you have my best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Harper

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks all, the news is in......they believe he does in fact have Influenza but was really happy because we caught it in the first 72 hours. His 10 pills cost us $107.00 Ouch!!!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow! Glad it was caught when it was. What is the name of the medicine?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

That's great Celeste - and yeah, "Ouch!!"

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - no RX plan? Tamiflu?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Glad you caught it early but steep price, hope it works quickly.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It is Tamiflu Victor!
