Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Ain't that the truth. I'll take Texas cold any day over Missery cold.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

They must have been transplants to MO.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

It's a toasty 34* light rain ;~)
Hahaha!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Complaining it Texas, how dare them! LOL I think we have made it to about 21º or so here!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Hey everybody!!! whatcha up to?
LouC no more work til June?....good for you!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Lou, what do you do to get out of work that long. I get off work from Oct to May, up here in tourist area.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Hey where do I sign up?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

You two are too funny! :)

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Girl you know how much garden stuff I could whip up with all that time!!!!
I could build all kinds of things. :*)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL silly girl! :)

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

You laugh... Think about it.... I would do a water feature...make a arbor...raise a bed...build a well
and so on ...... lolol.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Shoot, just come here and help me build all that! HA HA HA

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

You must understand that half of the time will be spent collecting materials from craigslist....
no way DH gonna spring for that much ~hobby~ stuff hahaha!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I already have my Arbor designed out, now I just have to get back to work so I can get the materials to build it. Then I need to order 2 loads of flat rocks and hire the bobcat to dig my water garden. Any one want to come and help? Bring hammer, strong back and money.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I got a hammer!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

That's a start come on. Hey Tammy, you got a hammer? If you do, that makes three of us and we can do some real work. We can travel to each others house and build what we need. Now we just need someone with a strong back and money.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, I can help out with the hammer, but I am afraid that is all I am good for right now! :( In my load of pots from our dear Shirley I also got a metal trellis, so I will have something pretty for one of my climbers! :)

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey, cool. I use to have a clematis on one of those. I was fantastic with the amount of weight it took.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

No luck with Clematis here! Darn it! But I have more than enough climbers to use on a Trellis. Just have to get DH to build me more! LOL

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

You gotta use craigslist and freecycle good things to be found!!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

What is craigslist?

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

www.craigslist.org is the go to place for everything a giant classified... scroll down to free and sometime they have really great stuff you just have to be able to get it. :)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Robin, here is another one for our area for you to check out if you haven't come across it yet: www.rollanet.org

Redondo Beach, CA(Zone 11)

Oh I forgot to tell you, one time about 200 years ago I had a Mandavilla Alice DuPont growing up the wires holding up a telephone pole in the backyard which was quite a task and took a year or more but finally took hold and was about ten feet up there blooming like crazy. The bottom was just a thin stem for about 2 1/2 feet and George went out and mowed the lawn and you guessed it..... cut right thru the stem and severed the mandevilla at the bottom! I of course, didn't notice right away and wondered why the plant was starting to look not so good. :)

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Just how old are you? Bad George. Baaaddd George.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh I bet you were very upset when you realized that one! LOL

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I work the registration desk at Dallas Market Center. Wholesale Super Market in January and June. Many smaller markets all through the year. We are retired but that is a really big joke. Just wait until it is your turn. You will be looking for work too.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

17º here this morning! Man I need some warmth!!!

Redondo Beach, CA(Zone 11)

POURING beautiful rain about 12 degrees below normal (about 58F now) with snow level expected to fall to 3000 feet. The mountains and High desert will be white tomorrow. Last year we had a 100 year record low of 2 1/2 inches, hence the fires, we are on track for above average (15"). 2004-5 we got 40".

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Do you have a snow mobile?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi all! We are enjoying 60º weather, for now anyway! Got to play outside yesterday and it was so nice! Suppose to have that again today, but it is then suppose to start raining and get yucky all over again. COME ON SPRING!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Gonna be coooooooollllllllllllddd tomorrow!! And I go back to work tomorrow too!! WAHHHH!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

No, it has reversed here, it is very nice outside and yesterday was dreary! LOL

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

We had rain today for a little while, but this afternoon was so nice! It's pretty warm here but have a cold front coming in Thurs. It will cool down some, I think 34 Fri morning, but then will warm back up by the weekend! Hard to believe that Spring (March 21) is really only 7 weeks away! It won't be long!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I can't wait either, Jeanne!!!! It went from 68º down to 18º in no time flat, and snow! BRRRRRRRRRRR WAY TOO COLD NOW!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

That is a drastic change! 18 is definately cold!!!!! Even when it is 38 here it just cuts right thru me. Our cold weather makes me very achey, so there is no way I could take it being 18! I'd have to hybernate (sp?)!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes it sure was, and I was out taking my son to have his cast put on at the time, wearing crocs, those shoes with holes in them, no socks, nuttin! My toes were froze by the time we got home! LOL It has been holding steady at 16, with a feels like zero. I had to put my warm fleece jammies on, and of course, socks! LOL I wish I could hibernate! HA HA HA Or better yet, move to Texas, or Florida, or Hawaii, etc..... Well, it sounds good anyway! :)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

Hawaii does sound great! But since I have family here, my Mom, children, grandchildren, it's not a reality, plus the fact that I just wouldn't be up to the occasion anyway. But it's a wonderful dream!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh yes, a very nice dream it is! I don't know that I could move away from my kids either once they are gone from home, but ya never know if they decide they are, maybe they will move somewhere warm! LOL
