RSS Feeds - what are the chances?

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Is it possible? Thanks, Sue

RSS feeds of the articles? Or what?

I added an RSS feed for the articles just to play around a bit.

If you're using a browser that supports it, you should be able to automatically add it to the reader, but in case not, the direct link to the feed is here:

Thanks Dave! There are a couple sites I frequent with RSS feeds and I use 'em :)

What are RSS feeds and how can I use them?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

Someone way smarter than me will come along I'm sure ;)

It's short for "Really Simple Syndication". If I sign up for RSS, then I don't have to go to the specific page on a daily or inter-daily basis when there is something updated. I get notified via my RSS feed when I check in. I can keep track of many different "blogs" for instance, this way.

Dave, do you mind if we add the feed to other sites?

Necedah, WI(Zone 4b)

Thanks Dea! :D

I don't mind at all - please do!

Hi Dave, I was hoping for feeds to my favorite forums. But I did bookmark the articles. Thanks for the tip.

Sue_WA,

I can easily do that. I just need to know what feeds you want (I know that now) and also I need to know what the feed should contain.

Do you want the latest posts in a forum, or just the list of forums in the RSS along with the date of the most recent post?

This is great, Dave! Thanks!

I use Google Reader for my RSS feed reader. RSS is wonderful because you can subscribe to blogs and other content like these articles, all with a couple of clicks. When I go to http://reader.google.com, I see all the sites I've subscribed to, all in one place. Firefox users can tell Firefox to make any number of RSS aggregators (readers) their default, so when you click a link to add an RSS feed, your preferred reader comes up.

Dave - Very cool! A list of forums in the RSS along with the date of most recent post would be ideal. I can cherry pick my favs from that. Kewl, very excited about this - thanks very much! :)

Did this die a slow death or still on the backburner? I have the articles, but not the forums. Any news?

I too would like RSS feeds for the forums

Coden, AL(Zone 8b)

I use google also and would love to have the RSS service for my favorite forums... that way, while I'm reading older threads, looking up info on plantfiles or searching for things I will not have to keep going back to the homepage every 5 minutes to see if my threads have been updated with a new post.

The forums RSS feed is up and running. Next time you are in the forums (either the main Forums page, or inside any particular forum) you will see the RSS symbol on your browser.

Wahoo! This is great, Dave. Thanks!

You are very welcome. :)

I have outlook and am trying to add http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/hemhead/all/ to my rss feeds- it's not having it. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone know?

I don't have an RSS feed for each and every forum, just the latest forum list. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/

Oh, gotcha. I was thinking I could subscribe to a forum's feeds and keep watch on the latest posts in that forum. This is still handy, though.
