I am checking my tagged items, and found two under the tag 'crow' which refer to daylilies and a recipe. The only likeness to crow in the daylilies thread is 'crown rot' so my guess is the tag was accidentally selected.
I can find no reference in the recipe which can have caused this mix up.
I don't know who has done the tagging, it may not have been the originator of the thread, so thought it best to post this here as it may also be a bug in the system which needs to be corrected.
Crow is a Family of birds, it may refer to other things which I can't think of just now, a tool could be one, but not these things.

Mis-tagged threads
It has also just occurred to me that these are in my own tagged items from my home page, should anything other than my own tagged items be showing there?
Those are both threads I added (initially at least)
the Daylilies: Need help from daylily experts
is tagged with: daylilies, daylily, daylily disease, daylily crown rot, crown rot,
and Recipes: JoanJ picture (CHRISTMAS SWEETS & APPETIZERS - Please share here!)
is tagged with:
Microwave Peanut Brittle, recipes, recipe,
Just more info for whoever is trouble shooting this :)
Thanks for helping to get to the bottom of this Hyblaean. This looks like a bug in the system.
I have two other tags which have the entire Bird Watching forum included too, which I don't think is of any help to anyone but is probably another bug, under the tags 'jay' and 'woodpecker'.
http://davesgarden.com/tools/tags/tag.php?tag=jay
http://davesgarden.com/tools/tags/tag.php?tag=woodpecker
Edited to add there is another tagged item under 'jay' which is not my picture nor my tagging, should this be showing on my home page tagged items? I thought the idea of viewing them on our home page was for our own tagged items.

The home page shows you all the most recent tags no matter who added them. You have to go down to the bottom of the list, then you'll see a link to view your own tags. Or else you can go to "my info" and you'll find a link to your tags there too.
Hyblaean, since the daylily crown rot thread you selected is still showing up under 'crow', the way to remove it is to click on the thread from your tag location and once the thread is open, click on the little folder again and change the tag. It looks like you just went and opened the original thread again from the forum and redid it instead of changing the original so now it's in two places. I just tested one of mine by doing the above and the original tag I selected disappeared and it;s now in the amended one.
I think that's right anyways, I am still playing around with it. :-)
Hey Sue, Thanks for trying to help us! I didn't change any tags or hit the button to retag them. I just opened the yellow folder to see what I had it labeled. To my knowledge (i'll check again, just to verify) it's not that it's labeled crow, but that it's been scooped up somehow into that grouping, perhaps due to the word crow appearing in crown rot? I don't want to get rid of the tag crown rot however, because it's a common daylily problem that people might want to look up (as you know :) better than I who's just a newbie at these guys). Now the recipe- I have NO idea how that one is in there *shrugs* I know it is either a labeling error- which means someone other than the original person (me) has labeled them crow, or a glitch. I love the tags tho!! :D They will be even better when Dave makes something to search them by, when we get enough of a base to go that route. Eventually, I think the tag cloud will be replaced with some sort of search gadget, as you, or someone else mentioned it's kinda big now, but that doesn't make it less effective, it just means it's in transition.
That's my understanding anyway- watch me be totally off base ;) wouldn't be the first time.
LOL, now see, here I just assumed it was your 'crow' tag!
Well let's hope we can soon get some of these errors and blanks off that huge cloud listing and this gets organized better.
Sorry for the confusion ecrane, what I meant by 'my home page' is 'My Info' which to me is my home page, or perhaps I was just tired then from doing many tags. These are showing up when I view them from my tagged items on 'My Info'.
Oh--well then I don't know why tags are showing up there if you didn't make them, they definitely shouldn't. The ones that show up when I go to my info and look at my personal tags are all ones that I know I entered
I am having the same problem. I sure hope I don't have to sort through all those tags for the few I added. No matter what my only choice at the bottom of the tag page is "CLick here to view all tagged pages from all members"
I'm assuming you went to "My Info" and clicked on the link there to view your own tags? If so, you should see a list of all your tags, then below your tags will be a link to view everyone else's. If you're not seeing any tags listed there, then for whatever reason it seems like the system doesn't recognize that you added any.
Can you delete any tags in the "My Info" section? I would like to delete the duplicate entry of Amaryllis 101 as well as the Ohio River Valley Gardening. Is there any way to delete those two?

Go to the page that you want to change the tags for, and click the folder icon (just like you would if you were going to tag it for the first time). This will show you the tags you've already put in, and all you need to do is backspace through the one you don't want, then resubmit. If you remove all the tags that you placed on an entry, then that page won't be tagged anymore (by you at least).
I've discovered something though--when you look at your tag list, the tags themselves that it shows you are only the ones that you've used. But when you click on a tag word, it shows you all the pages that anyone's tagged with that keyword, not just the individual pages that you tagged. So the duplicate things that you're seeing when you click on the Amaryllis tag word may not be things that you tagged, which means you can't get rid of them.
Okay, thanks ecrane3, I was going to My Tools and then to tags. I probably won't remember that I have to go to My Info....I've barely used it. Guess I'll have to learn :-)
If plantladylin is getting these on her 'My Info' tags page, she can't do anything about it, they shouldn't be showing there.
My 'My Info' has some which are not mine, as stated already, the system is either not quite working as it should, or other peoples' tagged items are meant to show under our own tags. If that is the case, I really don't want to have to wade through other's tagged items on my 'My Info' page, that should be for our personal use to track our own items or others we want to track.
I lost many of my pics when my computer crashed, so I thought to tag the ones I had posted on threads was a good idea as I can put them all in one place for easier access if I should want to copy them back to my computer.
I figured out what's going on--when you go to My Info and look at your tag list, the list of tag words only shows words that you've used to tag things with. But then when you click on a tag word, it shows you not only the pages you've tagged with that word, but also pages that anyone else has done with that word. Hopefully Dave can figure out a way to make the pages you've personally tagged show up at the top of that list or somehow distinguish themselves, but that's not how it's working right now.
Yep, when I click on "My Info" I get page: "Plantladylin's Member Page, where the first box of items says: "My Actions" and in that box is a list of:
View D-Mail, View Feedback, View Threads you are "Watching", View Posts Made, View Tagged Pages, View DG Favorites,
Manage Subscription, Manage Friends & Groups, Manage Preferences
When I click on the "View Tagged Pages" it takes me to the one I tagged for Amaryllis, and when I click on it, that's where it has the listings: Amaryllis 101, Ohio River Valley Gardening, Amaryllis 101 (duplicate of the first) - does that mean that two different people have tagged Amaryllis 101?
That looks to be what's happening ecrane, I too hope dave can make them personal!
There's still the problem though of the whole bird watching forum included, and those showing up where they shouldn't.
If the tag 'Amaryllis 101' has been made, then anyone else who tags anything under that tag will go into it. A duplicate really shouldn't happen, the same thread should only show under other tags assigned to the same thread, for example it the one thread had been tagged with 'Amaryllis 101' as well as 'Amarylllis' it should show under both.
I just figured out why the recipe came under the tag 'crow'. It has that in the word 'microwave'!
LOL! Clealy, some fine tuning is needed!
Liz, I found it quite annoying to have to wade through several other threads that had been added to a simple tag I used "rose', naturally quite common. So right now, I wish we had Favorites so I could keep my tagged favorites separate when I look at them on my info page.
llilyfan,
probably the quickest way to go to My Info is click on your own name in a post. I do that when checking out other users, especially when I come across a particularly nice photo they submitted and I want to see what else they have added. Of course, from your home page it's easier to click on the My Info tab.

too too funny Wallaby1- why didn't I see that!?
I didn't see it for a start Hyblaean, our brains are conditioned to see often just the beginning and the end of the word whereby it fills the rest in. Because we split that into two words we wouldn't see it! There is a word which asks how many letters there are, I think it was the 'i', no matter how many times I looked I couldn't see the extra one, lol, can't remember what it was now but it took some seeing!
Thanks Calif_Sue,
I think I'll have to learn to use some of these features more frequently.
