Yes, it's a big deal and hard work. I am usually in charge of an area, too. I Just got all of my dates mixed up. The sale is usually the second weekend in March, and the RU is usually in April, isn't it? It was only tonight that it hit me. I am so down. Thanks for the hugs...

The A&M plant sale should be the last weekend in March, that is when it has been the last 2 years. I love going to it, but you've got to be there about an hour before it opens to get the best selection. Literally people sit at the rope like it is a starting gate. My kind of shopping, kind of the day after thanksgiving for plant people...lol.
Yes I got there about 30 min before they said it would start and was amazed at the line of people at the checkout line already.

Our sale used to be the first weekend in March, then they changed it to the second weekend a few years ago. I have no idea why they moved it the third weekend this year, but it certainly caught me off guard. Haven't we held the spring RUs in April in the past? For some reason, I didn't think I had a conflict.
LOL on the nursery date the next day, Kim. I will have been worn out by my nursery date the day before!
Lol...I suppose that is true! Yes, we did have the RU in April in the past, but I asked about dates and people seemed to want an earlier one this year.
Is too late to change? I don't remember why we picked March. We might lose other too if we do it in March.
It isn't too late to change it....but I have to make the reservation fairly soon, so if we want to reschedule it we need to do it quickly.
Is there anyone else who would rather it was held in April? I know there is another event the 19th of April that many people will be attending. Personally I vote for the weekend of the 12th or 26th if it will be an April date. My mom is working the other two weekends.
Any time is fine with me.
Personally, if I had a choice April would be better for me. I will come to the ru at either date that is set. I will have a lot of seedlings that will be big enough to trade by April that may not be ready in March.
Let's be careful though not to run into co-inciding with Waxahatchie RU or any others that are near us.

I really would prefer to not have two round ups two weeks in a row, and the one up here is April 19th, so I don't know haw we could arrange it to not be that way.

I'm not sure about that Josephine...and I thought of that as well. The only other options for me would be the 12th or the last weekend in March.

Well....actually the 29th is the big A&M spring plant sale....but the 30th would be fine.

Hey, guys. Just found the thread on the RU in April. I'll talk to Karla and see what she thinks, but we had such a good time last spring I don't think it'll be a problem. And, yes, we were the ones with Bunnies best doggie friends. Just to make sure, it is on the 12th, right? I'll confirm attendance soon as I check with Karla. Were you planning on door prizes like last year, Kim? I saw where someone was asking about a "three color hibiscus". If that's the sea hibiscus that goes from yellow to salmon to red, I have some rooted cuttings I could probably be talked out of. See y'all later Jim
Yes, it's April 12th now. Those dogs are so sweet! Unfortunately the bunnies and I can't come this time... There is a mother/daughter camp out that weekend and Joy is already really excited about it. Maybe next year. :-)
The hibiscus that I am bringing is sometimes called variegated hibiscus. I think the official name is Snow Queen hibiscus. The colors are red, green and cream. Don't if it is the same as yours Karlae.

I had clicked on the link from the RU forum and it said April 12, but then the first post in this thread was talking about March 15 and I wouldn't have been able to make that because of my daughter's b-day. I'm glad I continued to read and saw where it was But I should be able to save the date for April 12! Woo Hoo!

Lawd, I hope nothing is going on in March. My car went out on me and it cost too much to fix. I got to think of how I am going to get another car.
