If you could be a plant which one would you be?

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

You got a new arm, Kass? All the better to garden with!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Do you have 3 now?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

You can get so much more gardening done with 3!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Hmmm, we got me thinking. If you had a third arm, where would you want it?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Attached to my third shoulder, of course.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

I would want it in a position to scratch my back with!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Good idea Sue! Or closer to the ground for weeding!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

LOL.... yeah, I wish it was 3 arms!!!!! but yeah, location is a challenge...

amazing what a little exercise can do...

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I think I'd be a cactus. I'd have bright, beautiful flowers. I could tolerate the cold, take a lot of heat, not particularly needy, I'd hurt those that treated me badly. Only those that KNOW how to handle me would reap my rewards, nobody would try to eat me, and I'd have lots of pups.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If you were a prickly-pear cactus, you could offer your fruit as well.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

You leave her fruit alone!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

makes good ice cream.
(well, almost anything good makes good ice cream.)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm still trying to figure out what the rewards are.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

The flowers are the rewards, silly!! I think cacti have some of the most beautiful flowers.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Even snow makes good ice cream! I haven't made that in years - maybe next storm!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

eek.
i remember eating snow as a child, but i don't think i'd dare to now!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Amy, have you ever had snow ice cream? It's just ice cream, milk, vanilla, and sugar.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i have a shaved ice maker - does that count?
but it isn't as good as the real thing, rarely seen in these parts, even in the summer.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We have several places that make homemade ice cream!
Giffords Ice Cream, Smiley's ice Cream, John's Famous Homemade Ice Cream....ect. Need come to Maine and try homemade blueberry ice cream!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I'm there!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

All are extremely smooth and creamy!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

mmm... around here it's Wentworth's year round and Sweet Claude's in the warmer months...

in NYC in the village there is a place called Mary's Dairy (http://www.marysdairynyc.com/menu.html)that makes some of the best ice cream i have ever had - but it costs crazymuch. Otto's (Mario Batali's place at the bottom of 5th avenue) is a great italian place/wine bar that makes really interesting types of seasonal gelato. Sweet corn was one of the best i've had. They always have olive oil, but i don't love it. i think i've seen rosemary and some other herbs, and some floral ones too.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

My favorite ice cream flavor is Grape Nuts, which I've only found at a dairy farm stand - Crescent Ridge in Sharon, MA. A little too far away for me to frequent.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Lemon merange for me!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

When we went to the Lobster Fest we had blueberry everything. My favorite was the fudge. there was a stand there that had 100 different flavors of fudge, and they were good! We ate lobster, fudge, and saw Don Rickles.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

In that order?

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes, along with many others goodies in between. Thank goodness for iron stomachs,

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Sue, I was just in Sharon MA. I'll have to ask my friend about Crescent Ridge.

Amy, the dairy barn at UConn has great ice cream. I don't think their supermaket brand is as good though.

Just to change the subjuect. Since I have a GH, I said lets get some orchid seeds. So on ebay and here and there, the seeds are cheap. After reading about orchids, I almost wanted to puke, I scratched that idea.

No wonder why orchids are so expensive.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm way late on this thread (I know, I know...nothing different there). Anyway, I'd love to be a pink muhly grass, waving gracefully in the warm breeze. I always wanted to be thin and graceful and have a long neck LOL and I love pink

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Jan, great response. Good to "see" you.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hi Jan, nice to see you popping in! How did I know that what ever plant you picked it would be pink or purple? LOL

Jan, if I ever come to New York, I'll be sure to "wave" back!

Amherst, NH

I'd want to be a dandelion. Then I could star in a garden remake of the Wizard Of Oz, reproduce prolifically, and have some A-hole landscaper cut me off at the knees. Maybe I'd end up in a
nice warm composter for the winter and winter-sow myself next to some other shapely common weed, like a thistle or a queen
anne's lace. Hot!!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

hahahahaha

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Is an A-hole landscaper like an A-list actor?

By the way, drzz, now that you're all settled in with us, do you have a first name you'd like to share? No problem if you don't.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

maybe its a landscaper who lives in that MA town Carrie (ithink) was telling us about - athol.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Probably the landscaper in Menasha

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And there probably is only one.
