I loved Quincy!!!
Movies, TV, & Stars,What is you favorite and least favorite?
Me too - I loved Quincy. How about Columbo?
Yes and Perry Mason w/my Dad when I was a young girl. Oh! I'm dating myself here!
Lawrence Welk - hated it!
I liked Quincy and Columbo - the original. The Rockford Files. Streets of SF. Lots of good 70's detective shows.
Hill Street Blues~ DH and I never missed it.
Oh, and I like the dry humor and redneck banter of "Grace Under Fire" with Brett Butler.
Who remembers Love American Style?? I was just a kid when it was on.
I remember it and Love Boat too. American Bandstand? Soul Train?
I loved Soul Train.
Me too, better than American Bandstand.
Don Cornelius!
Yeah, right! The Donnie and Marie Show, then Love Boat, then Fantasy Island!
Oh I forgot F.I......"Look Boss, Da Plane!"
Mod Squad.
Yeah - they were cool!
OMG! Love American Style! Gee, that was a long time ago, lol! I do remember watching that show as a kid - and thinking I was watching such an adult show too, lol!
Hmm, I know what song will stuck in my mind all night now....
It was pretty corny but I still remember it too!
I was just thinking about Love American Style a couple days ago - funny!
Rockford Files is on the Sleuth channel along with Magnum Pi and Simon and Simon. Not sure if cable carries this channel. I used to wait all week to see Love Boat and Fantasy Island! Ok are there any Gilligan's Island fans out there?
OOO Yeah, Baby! How could you not love Gulligan?
I like watching Sky King when I was a kid.
Probably B & W - definately B & W.
We watched Rifle Man. Of course Gilligan too. Remember the Partridge Family?
Soon to be 48 and have never heard of it.
Loved Dark Shadows and DH still watches the Rifleman. Yse the Patridge Family and The Brady Bunch.
Ooh, Dark Shadows! I just took out a season of episodes on DVD, but only had time to watch one show before I had to return it to the library. I loved that show as a kid.
Yankee, I think my mom watched Sky King. She's fond of telling a story about a nun at the Catholic girls' school she went to. The nun chastised a girl in her class for wearing a ring, and said that the girls were not allowed to wear anyone's ring. The girl said, "But sister, it's a Sky King ring" and the nun yelled at her, "I don't care who's ring it is, you are not supposed to be wearing a boy's ring, so take it off!"
At least, I think it was Sky King my mom referred to.
Loved the Partridge Family and Brady Bunch too!
Digger, I was such a Dark Shadows fanatic when I was a teen!!! My cousin lived down the Cape and we would write each other just about every day to discuss the episodes! Didn't ya just love Lara's Theme? I never thought of it being on DVD - I'll have to check Netflix.
You started talking about Nuns and it reminded me of "The Flying Nun" anyone remember it???
I adored The Flying Nun - Sally Field looks just as cute now as she did then.
Yup, Netflix has ALL of the Dark Shadows dvds - that'll keep me busy this year!
Anyone remember a show, 70's, about a lone motorcycle rider that went from town to town? I used to like that, but forget the name.
I remember the Flying Nun, before she had osteoporosis!
I knew she was on a comercial recently!! It was for a medicine for osteoporosis.
Speaking of dating ourselves.....I watched Sky King too, and Bonanza and Rifleman and a really cool local western "club" show for kids. It was called "Lazy Bar 11 Fun Time Club." In the 50s it was on at 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The cool thing was, they gave out a clear plastic tv screen that you put over your tv screen, and there were crayon-type markers that you would use to follow the drawing right on your tv screen. We loved that show!!
My son is a Columbo nut, so whenever we visit him, I always watch Columbo with him.
Anyone watch the first two nights of Idol yet? Like Pixie, I don't really get into it until it is narrowed down to the serious contenders, but it is fun to remember how the good ones did in their first auditions if you watch the early shows. I just can't watch it when the judges laugh at the bad contestants. That's so cruel. I know that those people have no business being there in the first place, but it is so mean to make them feel bad. I can never understand why parents and friends would actually let someone they care for put themselves through that humiliation without telling them the truth.
Because they get to be on TV...
Yeah, Deb.......I guess that must be it.......but I don't get why people want to look like a jerk on tv! I still feel sorry for them when they get laughed at.
That's right. They get their 15 minutes of 'fame' and some make the most of it.
Well a lot of the so so people don't get on TV, so either you're good, bad, or crazy!
