Here's a Redwing (a species of thrush, breeds in Scandinavia & Russia, comes to Britain in the winter). Can only just see the red underwing that it gets its name from in this pic.

Daily pics vol.49
Very nice pic Resin!!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Shan, I like your pics (in the last thread) of the White-breasted Nuthatch!
Previous volume here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/802005/
Here's a Snow Bunting
Resin
He's very cute! So nice to see birds we don't have here.
Shan, (replying to your comment in the previous thread) I saw a Ruby Crowned Kinglet for the first time the other day. I posted pics of it in the ID me thread. I saw it again today, but didn't have my camera. I'm more certain that is what it was now that I saw it again. You're right, they are so teeny and cute!
Here is a Ladderback Woodpecker. He made his debut in the Pileated Woodpecker thread, but I saved this (better) pic for Daily Pics. You can see why they were named Ladderbacks.
ROFLOL!!!!
I went back out trying to find him again(twice!) but no luck!!
Very nice pics tiger, its really good to see the Oregon form of the Dark-eyed Junco and the Spotted Towhee.
Lovely pics bsharf! Thanks for posting them!
These ducks and Heron pics make me want summer NOW! Sigh.
LOL Adel! That's one way to get more out of your species..
PK~ Kinglets are one of many reasons why I look forward to winter here in TX, They are just the cutest little birds imho!
Abut the Robin's feet Gary pointed out in the last thread and Resin confirmed... I have noticed the gnarliness of their feet before, but seeing all the adult Robin's feet here look this way, I thought it was normal. Not sure what could be done about it, (any ideas?), they seem happy enough for the wear.
Here is a crop of the feet from the original pic that was 3264x2448
bsharf, nice Hooded Merganser, such strange looking ducks with their large heads. The Green Heron is a very sharp looking bird.
Ooh Deb, close up they look scarry.
Robin was not far off me today singing away, he was in shadows so it didn't turn out well but I love the look on his face and you can see his beak vibrating.
LOL, we cross posted Deb, both singing away obliviously.
The little singing wet warbler does look very sweet Deb!
Yep, that one is definitely 'scarry' lol. I'm always amazed at the Cardinals bright colour, and their nut-cracker beaks.
You little Gold Finch looks to be checking you out mrw31, good capture.
NOw this is 'sca(r)ry', a Jackdaw yesterday on the oaks.
Nice flight shot debilu, do you use a tripod for that lens? I could never afford one to fit my camera, best I could do is a Nikon 80-400mm (equivalent to 600mm on D40X) at 900 GBP ($1,800)!!!!
The Jackdaw spent ages pecking at something, later I saw it pecking the tender end buds but not sure if it was doing that for a start.
Wallaby, what a pretty blue sky you have compared to my gray one! Nice pics. Yes, I used a tripod, it takes a few minutes to get set up, then the bird flies off!! I don't know much about lens comparisons, this is a sigma digital zoom.
