I miss Horseshoe!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL, yes,I know he is still with us but when was the last time he regaled us with one of his wonderful tales? C'mon Shoe! Hit us with your best shot... PLEASE!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

We should have a Shoe forum....;) just for his stories..........

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Or we could just stalk him until he gives us a story...

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Stalking sounds good to me. I'll even tell his sister that we are stalking him. She'll help us I know. :)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Great! Let's get this posse movin' and round him up!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hey Zany, I want to hear Shoe's stories too......I heard from him a couple weeks ago....but he didn't tell a single tale.

I'm stalkin' too.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Great! The bigger the posse maybe the bigger the tale?

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Maybe so..or we will keep on stalkin'.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure hope he doesn't go gitting all skittish on us and go into hiding!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Shoe skittish, nah, never! He'll love being stalked!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

i will chase him with shoes and socks till he complies .
(Evil Laugh )
my local girls night out friends ,
might help convince him if shoes aren't threating enough

Tazzy, that just may be what it takes! And if that doesn't work we can threaten him with not just any shoes...we'll make them high tops with steel toes and three sizes too small.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Hey, that pics a little scary for me...let alone Shoe. I don't like the way she's holding that gun........sort of pointed at the other lady....and she's just waiting....

I think I need to go to one of these classes, but that living room is too small for the likes of me. ha, ha.........

Hah! Yee-haww!

Now that is a pic of MY kind of women!! Well-armed and with good intentions!! Hummma-hummma-hummma!

Howdy everyone! Nice to see you. I have no idea why I'm being drawn outta the woodwork though. Perhaps it is the Winter doldrums setting in for us all? Are we ALL getting a bit stir-crazy? Dare'st we flirt with the "ya'll ain't right" syndrome? Oh me, oh myyy...!

Sorry, these days I tend to read DG quite often, whenever time allows, but just haven't posted much lately. Hopefully that will come to an end and I can contribute a bit here and there more often!

Also sorry to be so late in responding (and thanks to Debbie for alerting me!). For now though it is nearly midnite and I am heading up to the house for a bit. But as someone says..."I'll be baaack!"

Wishing everyone the Happiest New Year ever, hoping 2008 will outshine 2007 a hundred times over, and may we all keep the smiles on our faces and keep the tears outta our eyes!

Ya'll are the best!!

Friend Shoe, feeling young(er) again!!

OK Shoe, I can understand late hours but if ya go vanishing I promise I will get the gal's after you for certain!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Ahhhhhhh, Shoe, izzat you??? And with a little cowlick! Aren't you the sweet little guy.

Well, Shoe, you sure didn't stick around very long. Could ya start a little earlier next time and tell us a tale? Nothin's worse than these cold gray drizzly days.

It might be debatable whether or not we ain't right, but it sure is a fact that we are bored.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Shoe, did you have shoes on in that picture? Prolly not.

:) Kathy

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Mornin' Folks!

Sorry for the quick exit last night. There've been some mighty long days/nights here for a while and I've come to realize some of that time needs to be lounging on the couch, reading/writing, or even watching TV into the wee hours; at least my body gets a bit of a rest, eh? As for my mind, hmmm...'tis yet another topic!

And I stand corrected, it was the famous Kathy (MistyMeadows) that sent me the Dmail alert to this thread, not Debbie. (See? Told ya I ain't right!)

Sharran, yep, that's me. And Kathy, not only do I NOT have shoes on in that pic but it was a day when I was just freshly shaved and folks wanted to see a picture of me w/out the beard. Apparently they knew it would be a rare occasion to see!

A nice January day here, a balmy 67Ί here so must go pay my dues outside a bit. See ya'll later!

Shoe, I am so happy that the posse rounded you up. I have been searching through old posts looking for several of your old stories, The sanitary pad shoes and the first tomato in particular and couldn't locate them. Then I couldn't find any recent tales and it just made me panic! No Shoe stories... that is just not an option!!! So I just had to send out the posse and get you rounded up.

My next step was going to be photoshoping you into a pink bonnet with pink bows in your beard...

Didn't Alex turned 14 this month? She has gone from a child to a young woman.
Sorry I can't remember the exact day But happy birthday Alex!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Heheh, GW, that foot pic looks like the time you flashed your camera my way while I was sitting on the outdoor johnny at the campground! (Notice how my pants are down around my ankles/feet so low?) *grin

Howdy Zany...and yes, Alex turned a big 14 this past week. I think ya'll have watched her grow up (so fast!) as folks locally have!

On her birthday this year (last Wednesday) I went and reread my last years post regarding Alex: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/681707/
Mercy, DG sure records our many memories, eh?

Hehehe..."I've been searching through old posts looking for ...The sanitary pad shoes and the first tomato in particular and couldn't locate them."

Hah! See, there's those memories again. (And I think in those days ya'll might've been wondering what ya'll just stumbled across!) ;>)

Shoe

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Nope, you were standing and talking to Lisa, I think. I think I've got a picture of both of your feet, somewhere.

I think it would be cool if members could add tags to different threads and posts. I think I'll go suggest that in the Dave's Garden forum!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Tags? Would that be like adding one to your favorites option?

I'll be watching for your post about that. Thanks!

Shoe

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

In the DG context, it would mean adding keywords you feel apply to a thread or a specific post. For instance, your thread about the fem-i-NINE flip-flops might elicit tags such as these: shoeism stories flip-flop Sites like youtube.com and flickr.com make great use of tags. Check them out and you'll see what I mean. You probably won't be able to watch the videos too well on Youtube, but you'll still be able to search for words and see the search results.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Since you're an example I gave, Shoe, here's the link: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/802588/

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I love the idea of tags but if I could find the threads I would also put them into my favorites folder so as not to lose them again! Some things are just too good to be lost!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh, no doubt! :) And tags would augment this since everyone would benefit.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

The only problem I see with tags is that the entries would have to be tagged to begin with. (thinking about how hard and time consuming it was to set up tags on pictures) and wach person would have to tag their own entries wouldn't they?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It would be optional, and because not only the originating author could add them, it would be a community effort. Even having the ability to tag certain posts for personal use would be of benefit, I think. We should talk about this in that thread, because you're bringing up great points!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Shoe might look pretty cute with tags all over him too. Don't cha all think?

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Pondy! You behave!

The only folks I know who wear tags might be along the lines of Minnie Pearl. (Course now, I realize you are probably too young to know who that is, eh?)

GW, I see you got Dave interested in tags, too. Good going! Looks like fun to me!

Happy Day to all!
Shoe

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Isn't Minnie Pearl a relative of your's Shoe?

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Shoe? Me behave? You have GOT to be kidding!!!!!!!!!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

hehehe...well, I didn't say you had to behave WELL!

Zany, I think Minnie Pearl might be my grandfather's brother-in-law's second cousin twice removed. (I was twice removed once but I snuck back in through the window. Shhh...)

After midnight here and time for me to finally eat some grub. Ya'll have a nice evening and an even better day tomorrow!

Shoe

Here I sit, smelling chicken
In my oven, in my kitchen!
Mercy me!, wings are a'cookin'
Has been a long day, my stomach is a'lookin
For something to eat (With sesame and soy!)
Chicken wing meat! Yee-haw! Oh boy!!!
So now I go to see how it tastes
Here's a toast to ya'll, (And chicken in my face!) τΏτ

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Now that's the Shoe I know and love, the one that knows how to shove, a tasty chicken wing in his face , which means the chicken lost a race. The prize must not have been winner take all cause a wings not much food for a man so tall!

I have been going back through the old old threads and following links around. It is like strolling through history but a lot of the links are to "not found" I think they were to forums Dave took down when they didn't get enough traffic. But I have been tagging happily away and hope that this new feature will make searching threads easier.

Shoe i remeber Mini Pearl !! from HEE HAW
I love that show. I got my Dh a cd of the music from it.
He also loves the Grand Ol Opery.
Mind if i join in with the threead. ?
Good Moring to you all and salutations

sue

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

sue, jump on into this thread or any other! Tell us about your adventure of moving to the farm. What have you discovered about farm life that you love, or not, and how have your kids adjusted to it?

Santa Fe, NM

Hi. I haven't been at DG for a whole year yet. And what I like are good stories. Especially funny stories and true (mostly true) stories. Buying a farm sounds like a good story right there. The winter is long...so tell me!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

roybird, I hope sue will share their experience with us too.

Have you read justmelisa's story? Following them from the ravages of the hurricane through their struggles and triumphs on their new farm kept me laughing, crying and enthralled. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/565278/

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Roybird, Check out the Farm Life forum. :) or the Market Growers forum. There will be lots of stories to amuse you as well. :)

Kathy
