2008 Winter Byndeweed MGs

I dipped the hypocotyls of the sprouted seeds in a mycorrhizal fungus product before I planted them. The seedlings are very robust and a bit elongated, more than I have seen before...I wonder if the growth so far is a function more of the amount of light I am providing them. It is interesting to watch anyway.

Hi Beth, I started some seeds last week. I still don`t have a big light so I have three pots with a trellis and they go outside during the day and it has been warm enough lately and back in at night. Blooms should be happening in April if all goes well. I`m looking forward to spring and seeing how your indoor projects are going.

Frank, There was frost on the mailbox this morning...the closest thing to snow I guess. :)

It's a "dead" time of year for us MG growers. At least I have my master gardening classes to keep me busy!

No MGs to show right now...so how about some lovely slime mold instead!

Beth, I would love to have some of your mold, if you have seeds I will send a SASBE envelope ASAP, unless you want to be really generous and send it out to me right away because I have been looking for yellow mold to go with some red mold that I have growing.

I've heard of freeze-dried slimemold being used as a growth stimulator for slow growing plants...

I don't know if this is universal in the US, but around here they call it "dog vomit mold"
Lovely mental image!
