Not a very good pic. Tons o American Goldfinch.
DAILY PICS VOL. 48
Nice pics everyone!
Awesome pictures everyone!!
Our day started with a hawk in our bradford pear tree in the front yard. Of course, I didn't have my camera in hand at the time. :( I'm not sure what kind it was, but it's the kind that "screetches." Yeah, big help there.
Once things settled down, I got this picture of a White-breasted nuthatch. I really like these guys. They really aren't that afraid of us when we walk outside, so that's pretty cool.
He says thank you, wallaby!
Nice pics wallaby!
indiana, I love the White -breasted Nuthatches too; their very friendly.

Neat shot of your Cooper's, deb!
Your birds are so pretty wallaby!
Just have to like those nuthatches, indiana!
Love those last 3!
Look closely at the feet of this American Robin. It was standing on snow with air temp. approximately 10 degrees F., when I snapped the shot yesterday. Those feet look good and health, not frozen. Now, go back up to the Robin photo Debnes_dfw_tx took in the Texas heat. The feet on the bird in her photo look diseased or dry and dehydrated. Welcome you thoughts and comments. Maybe these birds had a reason not to migrate south for the winter.
How does the size of the Robins in the pictures Wallaby posts compare to the American Robin. As best I can judge from the background in his shots, they must be considerably smaller.

Wow that is different!
Nice pic Gary!
I had wondered which of your Robins were happier, those in the cold or warmth.
Your Robin I think is about the size of a Blackbird, and that is about 4 times as big as our Robin. (like on the toilet roll, not in length!)
Maybe debnes's robin has a foot scale problem?
I've never noticed that in my own Robins, not that I lurk at their feet. :-)
I probably brought attention to the feet with my Wood Pigeon's cold feet, lol. Could be just dryness.
I might be underestimating the Robin size, but our Blackbird would be easy 3 times as big. Haven't seen them without feathers!
According to DH, our robins are huge compared to those in GB. He didn't believe they were robins at first.
Different Genus but same Family kaperc, I think birds were often named because of the similar colouring to those here when people emigrated.

Our Blackbird is also Turdus.

Ooops, I shouldn't have pushed the 'listen' button on that link, wallaby! My parrots thought there was another bird in the house and went crazy. Lovely song,, though.
Yep, that American Robin in Texas does appear to have a foot disease of some sort.
