Julie, Nice pic of the Mockingbird w/ the apple!
I haven't been able to catch mine w/ fruit yet.
Nice pics everyone!
Thanks for starting the new thread GM!
Adelbertcat what is the blue bird in your picture?
Betty
adel's blue bird is a Steller's Jay. They and the Western Scrub Jays are in very large numbers here where I live, and they hoard whatever you might put out, prefering BOSS and suet. They can pack the BOSS off 60+ at a time. Sometimes they'll bury them for later, but they're often forgotten.
Thanks tigerlily
Their (Stellers Jays) beautiful aren't they? They love peanuts in or out of the shell too!
tortoisekeeper..............I wasn't ignoring you. We've been have power outages on and off all day and I haven't been on line much. Tigerlily and Pelletory are right, it's a Steller's Jay.
Is it the storms causing that adel?
pelle The wind has been heavy on and off and I'm sure that's what is causing the problem. Fairly common occurence around here.
Lovely shot of the Red-breasted Nuthatch Jo!
Welcome to the forum!
Pelle :-)
Pelletory -- Sorry I forgot to put the name. :-)
No problem! :-)
Wow, look at all those snow pictures~ brrr!
Hi Jo11, what a nice nuthatch photo! I like the way you have a rock in the water saucer. It looks like the nuthatch likes it too!
We had some temps in the teens here in Tn the last few days and the birds really seemed to frequent thte feeders more than normal. Here is a yellow rumped warbler visiting the large platform feeder I put together for the back deck.
Nice pics Lily!
So you just crumbled the Corn bread and put what type of oil on it?
LOL, Oh no don't say it...Corn Oil. :-)

Adel~ I saw on the national weather... you really did get pounded! Amazing you were even able to log on, glad you could.
Love your pics Lily..:-)
A hearty welcome to you Jo, sweet NH pic!
Another one I saw in New Jersey while MIL (Gladnes) and I were bird watching out in her garden. High up in the Sassafras ~ a Yellow-bellied SS
Welcome to the forum jo11. That is cute pic of the Red Breasted Nuthatch...I've only seen the White Breasted ones in our area. Is that waterer a heated one? I need to get a heated one for our birdies.
Lilyfantn and Deb...Very nice pics! I've never seen a Warbler or a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker!
OOOO nice woodpeckers sybil and deb!
Pell, I crumbled the cornbread, drizzled some corn oil on it as if I was dressing a salad and then hand tossed it to mix it in. I'm not sure I could even guess at the amount but it wasn't very much. I didn't want the cornbread to be soupy just a bit moister.
Wonderful pics debnes and sybil! I love all the Woodpeckers!
Thanks for the recipe Lily!
Debnes have you thought about adding your own favorite pic of 2007 to the favorite pics thread?
