I need some information on growing muchrooms. Another thing is I have an almost unlimited supply of pine straw with some leaves mixed in. If I harvest this straw and spread it over my garden plot and till it under will my soil receive any benifit from it? Hope I am posting this on the right fourm.
mushrooms
There is almost always benefit from incorporating plant material into the soil. However after having said that, I expect you have acid type soil, so pine straw might not be the best for you, Someone else more knowledgeable for your area will probably come along and give you b etter advice. I sure wish I had your pine straw andleaves for my alkaline soil.

I grew a mushroom kit from the local feed store. It worked OK. Not a cheap way to get mushrooms though.
I think you should use the pine straw in some way and as Donna said, you may benefit from adding lime. I think its probably most cost effective to use whatever you have and only buy what is needed.
