Nope, sure didn't! LOL
Winter's still here, having spring memories! (2)
Don, what is that white stuff in your first picture? HARHAR Sorry, probably not funny when you live in that wet stuff, but hey, I am a California girl. Like, totally. hehe
We are expecting rain on Thursday if it makes you feel better... See what a stinker I can be over my envy of your greenhouse? LOL
I never did make it to Emporia Kansas last summer, plans kept falling through and I finally just stopped trying. Still gonna try to make it this summer.
As always, I am loving your pictures,
Happy New Year!
Donna
Dandruff from ole ,man winter!!!LOL
Only reason so cold here, somebody from up your way, must have left the barn door open!!!LOL
Well if you decide to go stop by Wichita on your way, just so you can see what California should look like!!!LOL
Glad you enjoy the pictures, even tho you are a stinker!!!!
eeeewwwww, no WONDER I did not recognize it! LOL Now don't you go blaming us Californians for your cold weather, we only deal in sunshine here. LOL If I ever get to take my Kansas trip, I will for sure try to get through Wichita. Wonder if I could sneak that greenhouse out of your yard without you noticing...HA
No but it will probably need cleaning again.and I do have an extra pair gloves just your size!!!!LOL
Just imagine how many seeds could fit in a pair of gloves! HE HE HE

Hey Tman, would you look at this and see if you can help this poor soul out? ☻

Sad, sad thing about the poor palms!
Tammy,link took me no where?
HMMMMM I just clicked on it and it took me to the thread where the person is having the problem? Let me check it again and see.
It is under Palms and Cycads: Labeled-Palm Truoubles....Fire
From FoxtailFavPalm, but will try the link again

Well, hope that one works for you. I tried it and this one worked, too, so who knows?
Yep it worked this time!
and just when I start getting whiney because it's going to be below 30F for a night or two, I see that others work at it just a bit harder than I do to keep their passion for tropicals in order.
And from Whiney to ..it's not so bad! The only white I'm going to see in the garden are the frost blankets...This is the foxtail palm. Suppose to be 29F tonight, and below freezing at least 6 to 7 hours...will it defoliate the garden ..or will we be lucky?
Thanks for helping out there Tman!
RJ, love the purty white palm! LOL
TMan, I gave Kel a kiss and two...saying they're from you. He said, he rather have the bananas!!
...RJ, I will always be a whiney baby 'cos I don't have the miraculous green fingers like you and Tman!
Jaye,Is kel fixing supper tonite???LOLOr is he eating bananas!!!LOL
Welcome Tammy
Rj,,sometimes I wonder if not using blankets better than those frost covers,I use quilts here.
I go around to garage sales and buy all the blankets and quilts I can find, most have serious
stains on them, but heck for a buck or two they work great for what I need ,and seems to keep the plants warmer than plastic does.
gee everyone it makes me very humble to see what you have to go through to realize your tropical dreams ...bravo!
If I had to go through all of that, I would have to give in and love English cottage gardens. You are my heros!
I wonder what 2008 will bring? what new garden adventures lay ahead? ...hard to imagine in all that snow ...but a perfect time for planning and dreaming. Here in my jungle I am planning a formal
Angel Walk ...Hubby said he will help ...that is my 2008 thing ...anyone else have a special project in mind? ...look past the snow ...what do you see for the Spring/Summer of 2008?
TM I love that you have my peaches and cream hibiscus.
Happy gardening !
chrissy
Hi Chrissy,
Plans for 2008!
Well I have a couple hundred palm seeds waiting to germinate, and a few other things as well,my plans all depend on what comes back after this snow and bad freeze we've had now for over 3 weeks .
The noa forecasted above normal dry weather for are area, well that seems to be wrong!!!
Now I'm praying for a early spring with no last minute ice staorms or cold windy or rainy weather, before I make a final decision!
Right now be happy just to see the snow melt!!!
I don't blame you. I have about 23 foxtail palm seeds planted in my nursery ...beautiful things (the big red seeds) I had to soak and scrub off the coating also. My Brug seedlings are up ...I put a grill over the tray so the birds won't get them after you mentioned it.
Guess I had better get on with the chores now have a great day TM and anyone else lurking or looking :)
pic of the grill over the seedlings
Here I am thinking, such a beautiful project for 2008, Chrissy's Angel Walk..then here chimes in Don with his hundreds palm seeds...making me tired already!!!!
I'll pray right along with you Tman that Ole Man Winter will retire soon!
Everytime something's planned...I get "curveballs" thrown...sometimes spitballs!!
So. it's going to be "que sera, sera"!
Yea, this cold is getting to me too!
I think the cold is just starting!!!
Better dig out the long jonhs!!!
Oh long johns would be great! I got laughed at over my granny gown, though! LOL
RJ, what do you mean garages are not built for plants! Are you sure? hehe Tell that to all my plumies, brugs and jasmine that are filling mine. LOLOL
Every time I try to maneuver my way through the maze of pots I cuss em good every time they trip me up, but then I always apologize on my way back into the house. lol
Hope everyone can stay warm!
HE HE HE
Trying to stay warm here!
Having a hot bowl of ginger tofu soup ...staying warm.
I'm about ready to have another bowl of mine!
ginger tofu?
Sounds alien huh Tammy!!!
Ginger's good for colds..and upset tummies...equivalent to chicken soup, minus the chicken. What's in your bowl, Tammy?
With your luck Tman...forever!
Taking notes, here.
Now you got Kel looking and INTERESTED!!
