Nice pictures in this thread. I especially like your shots Laverne....here is a small Hawk I got some shots of today. After crashing through my back bushes and coming up empty, he sat on the antenna for a moment. I'm not sure what kind he is though.
DAILY PICS VOL. 44
dellrose, That is a Flicker; Congratulations!
The Downys (and some other wp's) will "freeze" if they think danger is nearby.
Wonderful pics!

Thanks for the ID Adel and Pelle. I've been seeing him for awhile and was so happy I could at least get a shot for ID!
Thanks also Pelle for confirming that I wasn't imagining the little Downy freezing from the danger! I sure felt sorry for him...his body language really told the story!
Gardenmom, not sure what kind of hawk that is but I saw a similar one today..unfortunately I didn't get a pic as I was driving!
Looks like a Mourning Dove.
Hi burn, Yes its a M. Dove.
Burn, your little dee is so pretty! I have a terrible time trying to catch them.
Nanny_56 Your DH picked a hard photo to get (what with the limbs in front of the bird) I think he did quite well.
Depsi............could it be an immature Northern Shrike?
adelbertcat, yep, I think you're right, thanks.
Your windows are clean, dellrose! That WTS shot is beautiful.
Thank you Kaperc! Now that I look at that pic I realize I was standing in the garage doorway and not thru a window!! I became concerned when you mentioned my clean windows...that will never happen! LOL!! Thank you again for your kind comment.
dwr, Thats a great pic thanks for postin it!
Wonderful pics everyone!
adel, those still look like Junco's.

Sharp-shinned Hawk
Taken yesterday, looks like it is a Clark's Nutcracker, but it's bill is so short
Juvenile Northern Shrike
Resin
pelle..............they're Juncos,,,,,,,,,,I'm wondering what the caption should be...... Alright children!! no rough housing at the breakfast table.
Sounds good!
Thanks Resin, I was leaning toward Sharp-shinned because of it's small size. I think he is after my Painted and Indigo Buntings.
