I know a seeecret! (Gift giving)

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Okay, so I didn't pass on the art of coy gift giving to my
sons. Not even my husband has the ability to surprise me,
though I do act surprised when opening a gift. (grin)

One day my husband came home with what appeared to
be a brand new book about wall decor, as I am presently
doing things with the walls throughout the house. This book
was originally very expensive, but he happened to find it
in a Goodwill store for only a dollar. It looks as though it
was never even opened. A buck!

That same day, three more books (uh, I mean presents I
can't identify) showed up under the tree, wrapped. Hubby
and I have always supposedly agreed not to buy one another
presents, that we will shop after the holidays for the things
we need or want. It would seem he thinks the gifts under the
tree do not apply to the rule because they were, in his words
"Really nothing, just a little something."

If I know my husband the way I think I do, these are either rag
rug or mosaic books, and I can't wait to see them! I just KNOW
that is what they are, and I'm anxious to open them, but have to
be patient and act like I don't have a clue. As he did not give
me the books the same day, I just know they are good ones,
because the book he did let me have the same day was fabulous!

I also know what the boys have given me, even though they, too,
were told not to buy me anything. They are so sweet and thoughtful.
(awww). My guess is a DVD player for my bedroom, as I rarely watch
movies due to the inability to sit still, so watching in bed is the only way
to get me to stay still. The t.v. in my bedroom has no fancy features, not
even a V.C.R.

So, in a few days, I'll check back in to tell you all if I was right, or if
my guys really do have the ability to do sneaky but wonderful things.

And if my mother bought us anything, I'll have to spank her, but I have
a feeling I know what she did buy, if she did. It's red, and that is all I'm
going to say. No, you can't drive it.

LOL

AWEEEEEE WUVIE, such a thoughtful, un-sneaky family you have there! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Wuvie? Were you right?

Lilesville, NC(Zone 7b)

Yeah Wuvie were you right sista friend??

Whoops, almost forgot to come back and verify my
suspicions. LOL.

Indeed, they were three fabulous mosaic books, a dvd
player AND a new chair for the office!

I was, however, wrong about the gift from my mother.
It ended up a gift certificate from the nail salon and a
nice white Ruwana! I love it!

I've been a good girl, but I haven't been that good.

LOL. (Skipping off to read my mosaic books)

Crozet, VA

Hey There Wuvie - I have been reading this and was looking forward to hearing your secret. You still have a secret from me, because I don't know what a Ruwana is. Please do tell......

Ruby

(Zone 7a)

I googled it and didn't see anything but Africa. She coudn't possibly have gotten that so...?

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL...I'm so sorry. No elephants or tigers here. :-)

A Ruwana is actually a sort of hangy-blankety wrap-around
coat looking thing. It is hard to find by name, but you can find them
in places like Sears. They look like a high fashion wrap sort of
thing.

I apologize, I'm not making much sense, LOL.

It is much like a poncho, but does not go over your head,
has but one button at the neck, and a small stitching to make
armholes out of what would otherwise be just a fold of fabric.

Does that help at all?

I thought it was a plant! hahaha.

(Zone 7a)

LOL Never knew that's what they were called. Something new.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, it sounds nice anyhow! LOL

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

It does sound like a plant, LOL.

Ah, just checked the tag. Made by a company by the name
of Mountain Lake. Still can't find diddly on it. Hmm.

:-) Guess I'll have to take a pic of it one day, but I am off
today, wearin' jammies and goin' nowhere.

Whooo hoooooooooooo!

Crozet, VA

That would have been the last thing I would have guessed it to be. Just goes to show, a person can learn something new every day.

What!!! No mosaic software ??? Well there's always tomorrow

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, Balv, I wish. I've been reading, reading, reading about it
and I would love to play with the Tile Creator Pro. Alas, I think
I'll just have to make it a mission. One day.

I'll add it to the "Gotta try before I die" list, along with ballet,
opera, playing the flute, LOL.

Crozet, VA

Gotta try before I die, I love it!!! That sounds like a fun and productive list to make. I want to travel more and need to begin taking the steps that will be needed to work myself in that direction. No time like the present to get started.
