Daily Pics Vol. 43
Thanks Resin and pelletory. The feeder is about 13"X13". I forgot to add that about 5 minutes after the hawk left the feeders were back. Also within the last half hour we've had a number of western bluebirds looking at the bird house. Saw them last year when snow was on the ground too, but were told they weren't supposed to be hear in the winter. We've learned the bird house we currently have up is not adaquate for nesting due to size and design. Should we just take it down or plug hole and leave it? We've purchased a blue bird house and I intend to pattern a couple more like it to be placed further away from the feeding area when the weather gets better, any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
Picture is kind of dark, the blue was a lot brighter and the brick red chest really stood out, hope to get better picture in the future.

Rose thanks for allowing me, to us Bright Eyes as my desk top. you capture really good expressions, on the birds.
Here's one with a funny look.. "take my good side"
Elaine, thats a cute pic!
Elaine..how lucky you are to have a Wren stay on your porch. I have one that will visit but never long enuf to take a pic, I like yours!
Burn..darling little bird and thanks again for your nice comments!
Rose
Elaine, we almost never see wrens although they are around in the summer, and certainly never at this time of year.
Burn, you really captured that little guy's expression.
We had rainy, foggy, nasty weather today, not good for taking pictures, but I got these grosbeaks from inside the house. The quality is poor but I love the way they were carrying on.
I never saw a black-throated sparrow until last week; but this one is becoming one of my regular dinner guests.
Can anyone ID this little bird for me?
Female House Finch, with no tail feathers (presumably lost in an accident with a cat or similar, they will re-grow)
Resin
