Cleaning old Vinyl Records

Arcata, CA(Zone 9b)

A friend of mine wants me to convert old records (33 1/3) to CD's. They are really dusty, dirty and may have some mildrew. Any suggestion on cleaning???? Went to the local CD store, there answer was Who keeps Records these days. They had no cleaning supplies for records, just DVD's and CD's.
Thanks

Luckily I have some Discwasher left otherwise I would probably have to look on Ebay to get it. I haven't been very successful on getting mold off fully.

Next time the folks at the local CD store ask "Who keeps records these days?", ask them how you're supposed to do your scritch scratch deejaying with a CD!
Vinyl is till very much in use.

I much prefer my classical recordings on vinyl rather than CD. The digitally "mastered" recordings do have the same depth of sound.

I use the Discwasher system on my LPs too.

if vinyl is really dirty you can wash them in luke warm water with dish soap. just don't let the label soak too long

I use dish soap, slightly warm water and a piece of a cottn Tshirt. Wash gently in a circle with the grooves rinse well and to dry use a lint free cloth again in a circle with the grooves or air dry.

On CD's you should wipe gently from the inside out and not in a circular motion.

Thanks everyone
