Nanny,
I like that small square feeder, but don't have it yet. I didn't notice the one made out of recycled milk jugs when I was there last, but I'll have to look around a little closer next time. Seems all your birds love it too! What kind of seed are you putting in it?

DAILY PICS VOL. 35
That is a nice little feeder.
I throw a little of everything in there!! Mostly BOSS & peanut pieces but whatever else I have I will put some in. We refer to it a the 'buffet' tray. But I put some in the tray in the morning and again in the afternoon. Can you guess why???
So, I'm guessing Nanny, you don't want any of mine? LOL!!
Or mine?! I got lots of the gray ones and some of the reddish brown ones! LOL ;-)
No thank you!!! However maybe you would like a couple more!? This morning I was upstairs & looked out and there were 5 of them inside the fence. Though actually one was prancing across the top along the back!
I got my raccoon baffle now for my pole system, just have to get it on. I really hope Santa might bring me a couple of new feeders......
Sybil,
You're right! Bummer! ;-)
Like the homemade bird feeder. What do you put in it?
How high off the ground is it?
Are you still getting snow?
Marilyn
Very cute!
I had six squirrels in the yard the other day but they can only wait for what the birds drop.
They make out okay.
I know what you mean! I haven't gotten much done since I have been playing with the camera. Good thing I don't have a job!! lol

Nice pics adel; I love seeing the Kestrel!
Pelle..............one of these days I'm going to find one when there's good light and a good back ground.
Marilynbeth - BOSS and corn
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one so distracted by the birds. I thought maybe I was developing some sort of compulsive disorder! LOL
Nope, you're not the only one :-) I'm sure my DH thought that when I took up gardening, the house would at least get cleaned in the winter but now winter has become my main birdwatching season, LOL. Maybe if it gets too dirty, he'll clean...
ROTFLOL!!
Oh I've heard that a number of times!!
LOL! Things just don't get down in Winter!
I did not realize that bird watching is another awesome way to get out of cleaning house!!! I think I have all seasons covered now. Let's see, there's still the rainy days though....
LOL Lily! ;-)
Don't know if DH 'will buy it' though. lol
I don't have a DH - yet ;) - so I only have to answer to my 10 year old, a dog and a cat. LOL!!
Your lucky; I don't know any cats or kids that would complain about that type of thing.
I think Marilyn was talking about her DH, lol!
Felicia~ I bet Cory is right along with you watchin' birdies now.... I am certain the cat is. rofl!
It plunged down to 32 last night, with a high in the 70 yesterday.... That brings the hawks out to the feeders, bc all the field rodents are in their holes and nests staying warm.
My feeder birds are in trouble this year. This hawk is smaller than most of them, however very brave to jump right into the rosebush to seize his breakfast.
First it was in the tree above the feeders..
Looks like a Sharp-shinned Hawk Debnes. :-)
Negotiating the thorns pretty well, I might add..
The place this hawk is sitting is the usual refuge for several of the feeder birds when the hawk appears. Not to worry, the birds will wise up and use the neighbors hedge over the fence, where most of them go anyway. They will no doubt, work it all out...
:-)
Oh thanks pelle, I was thinking it was a sharpie too... pretty small and very brave.
IN_lily ~ I've got the rainy days covered too! All of my feeders are in the grass beside the driveway, I just sit in my Jeep, LOL! I just tell the DH that I'm participating in a "Feederwatch Project", gotta count the birds, LOL! And rainy days are covered in the summer because I spend them "planning" new beds ;-)
Yikes, Debnes!! I've got those around too! But haven't seen or heard them lately, thank goodness!!
Cori and I experienced the coolest thing this morning -- and, yes, she's now learning all the names of the birds. :) Anyway, we went out the front door, and to the left is where the Bradford Pear is with my suet feeder, and feeder for the woodpeckers. On the suet feeder was a WBN. We stood just a few feet away from him watching him, he looked at us and did not fly away. Instead he continued to eat and watch us. I think next weekend, we'll try to feed them out of our hands like someone on a different thread did. It was just very cool that the WBN had no fear of us.
I know what Marilyn meant. ;) I'm divorced, but have a very sweet BF, who could care less if my house is messy or not. LOL!! And, actually, Pelle, the cat is very particular about how clean the house is, so he keeps me in line!
Sadie, I see where you can be a very bad influence on me! LOL!! :)
Thats a good idea sadie!
Maybe on a nice day I'll move my Squirrel Buster feeder to the front yard in a Maple thats right next to the driveway!
What a cool cat indiana! Mine just care about the litterbox and who could blame them for that? :-)
Debnes,
You're right! I was talking about Dear Hubby (DH)! LOL ;-)
dellrose................the pics look good to me.
