what part of the turkey-do you claim?

South Milwaukee, WI

What is your favorite part of the turkey? I gotta have the wing.

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Dark meat mostly, but the favored piece is the tail.

Edited to note:: Have to agree with you Sally, those oysters are a real treat.

We call it the spoon, or its called the oyster, the piece of dark back meat.

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

I'm a wing person too.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

the drumsticks.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

so many parts, so little room in the tummy..

Lilesville, NC(Zone 7b)

My favorite part is the white meat on the breast. MMM love it on sammiches with lots of mayo.

The stuffing! The meat is just the "carrier" for the good stuff....

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

When you are all done carving all the meat off of the turkey, just turn it over and I will have a feast on all the bottom meat stuck to the carcass (full of juice and flavor) and also the tail and those 2 liver-looking thingies on either side of the backbone INSIDE the turkey.
Some people cal them "oysters" (does that mean testicles?). Some say those are the kidneys or the spleen. I just love them! Even on a chicken.

I DO NOT, generally, like white meat at all, except in a Turkey/chicken salad. It is too dry for me! I like dark meat--but juicy dark meat.

My least favorite piece of a Turkey or a Chicken is the drumstick.

Isn't it great that people seem to like different parts- My least favorite part is also the drumstick, (and the liver).

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

I chop up the liver for the gravy.

Eureka, CA

I chop up the liver for the stuffing! :o)

South Milwaukee, WI

My mother always chopped the liver for stuffing :) She had to have the neck to eat.

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

sannajane, You are just all about the stuffing!

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Soap,

Ever have chicken livers wrapped in bacon? as an Horsdeur?
How can you not like that?

I know! I know! The liver is just---so----------livery......
It is not something one would eat bite after bite, but a nibble is OK.

I LOVE good Liverwurst!!! The king the German delis have--all made from scratch----just a step away from Liver Pate. GOOD! On white bread with a bit of butter.....Yummmmm.....
Grocery store Liverwursts leave me cold.

But then--I eat almost anything.

I'm with you Gita, I love a good liverwurst too! But on a good cracker!

Gita, you & I would make great dinner companions....The tail is my favorite piece on the turkey, second would be the wings. I love the bottom side where all the juice has gathered & jelled after the turkey is carved, too, and as for the stuffing, yummmm, I agree, the turkey is just the vessel to produce the good stuff.....Deb
