Well, shoot, ZZ. I'm sorry she didn't have color, but she is still nice looking from the last picture you posted.
Oh Yeah! Here comes another one!
I think she is gorgeous!!!
hell i would keep her............even if she is only white
I appreciate your kind words everyone.. she is pretty, but Not when it takes 2 years to get a bloom! There are plenty of double whites that bloom just fine.. She was not a healthy thriving plant, it took a lot of care, dropped buds, and a lot of bug spray...etc. I don't wanna sound totally cold, I'm just being realistic! It's just not worth all that work for another double white with no scent to speak of... those are not the kind of characteristics we want in the gene pool.
Now this lil baby bloomed in 7 months.. she is almost 3' tall and has done everything right.. not the most perfect single pink.. but plenty of blooms and no bug spray wins a spot in the GH...!!
I'm begining to understand now about the characteristics and such about what really great brug should be. Just a little. :) Aahh so much to learn.
That is wonderful Kim! Congratulations! You are blossoming and it is a good feeling isn't it?!! When the pieces of the puzzle start to show themselves and they all start to look like they will indeed fit together someday... it is a great feeling.. I am just getting there myself... and I love it!
There IS a so much more to brugs than a pretty bloom.. The more we can do to better them rather than just spread them around in masses, the more fun they will be to grow!
It is a lot to process. But they are so intriguing.
Well
Ya'll can have any of the parameters for your selections... you wish to take on the task of ...but for myself..
I'm just looking for .... one that's a varaigated 24" red picoteed flowering...an ever blooming quad of short stature..that has an aroma that will make you weak in the knees.. and unable to walk
Geeeee it might be nice if it was aromatic in the day time also...
I could live near by..since I couldn't leave..

I think I saw that one last week at Walmart Gordon.
Buahahaha.
Hi Gordon....I would like some seeds when you get that one. LOL
Betty
I'll have some also. ;*)
I think the only time it matters how long a seedling takes to it's first bloom(s) is when you have to worry about space. Otherwise, it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how the plant will grow and perform as cuttings or bloom cycles, etc.
I do agree with your assessment, though... a struggling, bug-prone plant isn't one that should be propagated. Not to mention, there are plenty of double whites out there already... a sickly one wouldn't be beneficial to anyone.
