Oh Yeah! Here comes another one!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

been thinking all night better keep that cat outta bong-tree territory
ROTFLMBO...Watch that owl!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

This one is taking forever! It's cold.. she wants to stay closed..

Any progress ZZ? Did it open?

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Nothing yet.. the inner skirt was slooooowly creeping down, but it's still sitting there... nada, nutin, zilch..

I have another single seedling that popped out of the calyx and froze in time. LOL

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

Is this common? How long does it usually take a boom to unfold? You said you think it's too cold? Jeesh you live in CA (and to an Ohio girl it seems like it HAS to be warm in Cali) LOL!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Yeah, in the cooler weather it takes longer... I'm wondering about seedlings.. cause it seems once they spit out the first one, successive blooms seem to pop open faster..or maby it's cause I'm not checking them every hour when it's a second bloom! It's only been 4 days... once you take a pic it seems to slow time to a crawl. LOL

LOL Cold for the brugs.. LOL

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

I am dying to see what she looks like. Put a sweater and gloves on her and warm that puppy up!! :^)

Winnsboro, TX

Hey ZZ she can have a place in my greenhouse. I'll kick out some of my other plants to make room for that brug. I'm still trying to get some and a couple of doubles too. Anyone want to share some of your double cuttings with me? Shoot anyone want to share cuttings of any brugs with me? Got to cover all the bases.
I'm sure she will be breath taking when she does decide to open up completely.

I thought I was the only one that went around singing all the time. I sing to all my plants and talk to them too. Sometimes they talk back, I heard one just the other day say---I wish that winch would either stop singing or take some lessons. Then another plant rudely said "Too bad she doesn't have an off and on switch."

Go figure, I feed them, give them water, and heat and that's the thanks I get from them things. Wonder how they would like it if I dropped the temp in the greenhouse about 10 or 15 degrees tonight? LOL

Marian...cruelty to plants, eh?? Wonder if that's a crime?!
ZZ...The Waiting is the Hardest Part:-)

Well I just figured it was better singing to the plants than the dogs. They got to where they whine all the time when I'm singing. At first I thought they were trying to sing with me and I thought it was cute. Then I was informed it was because I was hurting their ears. Go figure! Well I think I sing good, but I'm deaf.

Can't sing to the dogs or the plants. I guess it's abuse to both of them. LOL

Come on ZZ we just gotta see that baby in full bloom.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Hey Ya'll,
can somebody tell me ..how long has this been going on?.... :*)
Kim

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

Where'd she go??? ZZ!!!!

I bet she's out there taking a pic of it right now!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

She is still yellow, but she's trying to open!

WHOA!! Where are my shades?!? That's an awesome pure yellow!! How'd you get yellow out of that cross?

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

It's just opening.. it will change..

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

ZZ, being so new to brugs, I have to say, I don't know if I can handle the waiting. lol. I literally paced the floor waiting on my bloom and it didn't take this long. She is going to be beautiful when she is in full bloom. Thanks for the update.

Taken last night.....I take as many pics of my brug as I do of my daughter. Is that bad?

That's a very pretty one, Pupil!!
Yes, it is bad, because you're supposed to take MORE pictures of your blooms than of your daughter. ;)
ZZ, but wouldn't it be great if it didn't change?

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

LOL. ;^)

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Yeah! As long as the second skirt drops! It's probably just white.. oh well.. it's always fun to watch.. I have another baby opening.. and if it's not pink I'm gonna scream.. LOL

That's another reason it's taking so long.. there are 2 skirts...

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

HELP!!!!!!! Last night I had a teensy weensy bit of green showing in my cup where I had planted a brug seed, now it is gone!!! Where did it go???
Now the other one is a money plant, and it has grown like 5 times since last night! I don't get it. :(

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

ZZ where is the Brug?

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

mistygardener... It sometimes looks like a tiny bit of greenery showing when a piece of perlite turns green from moisture.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

It's just white.... Not a keeper..

Thumbnail by ZZsBabiez
(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

But she's so pretty!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Doggone it anyway! Here I thought I had meself a baby! :(

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you Kim, they are all pretty! But they have to earn their keep..

LOL Misty..

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

said very softly...ok

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

There is always next time, so they say. :(

North West, OH(Zone 5b)

*Gulp* what does "not a keeper" mean? You don't mean planticide? (soundling like a real newbie eh?)

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Well I Like it

(Cathy), MO

Me too! I thought it was gorgeous

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

we could use a few good double whites

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

ZZ... OH another white... well...my HDW X L'A was the biggest I ever saw from a seedling... Tall about 6' and with a trunk this first year like my wrist... She was started last winter ... and got that big the first year.. and had multiple flushes...maybe four... the last one popping off inside of a1/2 dozen blooms.. looking like a triple here...but the inner ones wern't real good for dropping down [ THIS YEAR ] ..... I had a post here where I cut away the outer flower.. and found a shredded bloom inside.. her not dropping was apart of it being just too big inside to pass through the opening of the outer flower
..and yes she was also a white here.. but her size and viggor are enough to have me keep her .. [ maybe she'll learn to drop her skirts..mmmmm]
Teresa.. great kitty picture...just being over indulgent.. I can sympathize.. apart of the new BC
laws I guess.. and thanks for the poem.. it was the personal poem of my first wife and I.. before our split.and her subsequent wholistic hearling [ it didn't work ] for her breast cancer.. RIP...
I hadn't heard [ or thought about ] the entire piece for some time now.. Thanks.. for the memory..

(Cathy), MO

Well if any of you have a double white you don't want, I can find a good home for it! LOL

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

That is sad Gordon. I'm sorry for your loss.

I kept a seedling that wouldn't drop her inner skirt from last year.. This year she didn't change her ways. I just don't have the room..

The seedling above took 2 years to bloom.. not worth the wait..

Victoria, BC(Zone 8a)

Oh Gordon. I'm so sorry.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

ZZ, I got my new babies in the mail today!!!!!! WEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAA
Now I just gotta keep them alive!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
I am in TROPICAL heaven now!!! :)

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)
