Lullabye Help

crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hi everyone. I am in the painful process of trying to hunt down the name and complete lyrics to a song my Mother use to sing to all the babies. She didn't know where she learned the song or the name of it because I ask her many times while she was alive, So far I've met dead ends everywhere!! I think the tune is Scottish but I'm not even sure on that. Is this a hopeless cause I wonder? I really wanted to get all this info and then have a copy framed for each of the family members who grew up hearing it.

Any ideas?

Tina

What lyrics do you know?

Did you look here:

Yep tried that one. They haven't returned my email. Here are a few of the words:

DANCING TOGETHER
OVER THE HEATHER
WHILE THE DAY IS FINE AND FAIR
ROBINS ARE WINGING
EACH ONE IS SINGING
MELODIES SO RICH AND RARE......

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

...EACH PROUD FLOWER IS A FAIRY
DANCING IN THE BREEZE
AS THE SWAYING TREES
WHISPER SOFT AND LOW
SECRETS THAT THEY KNOW
COME THEN ONE AND ALL
HEAR THE MUSIC CALL
TO EACH LASS AND LAD
GAY AND GLAD

Found this on the internet, but is there more to the tune?

If it is Scottish, you could try here.

Now you have me intrigued, too. I bet it's pretty.

P.S. I just realized it's probably someone who knows you that posted about it on that website! LOL

Bummer. That was the folksinger that I had contacted earlier asking about this. Oh well. I'm now wondering if it was a song at all.......
