Some threads with photo headers, not for others?

Hi Dave and all,

In posting a few things to another thread, I noticed there
are no photos to the side on some threads.

For example, in the Trash to Treasure forum, a picture
in the post shows up in the post menu with a thumbnail.
In the recipe forum, this feature is not enabled. It just
seems being able to see pictures of the food would be
fun, not to mention tempting. LOL.

It's quite alright, I was just curious what the factor is in
determining which threads feature a photo in the post menu?
Not a problem, just wondering. Would it be possible to enable
images on the recipe or cooking forums?

This story goes back to when we first introduced photos into the forums. (Wayyyyy back when ;o)

As best I can recall, at that time only the photo forum had the ability to have pictures. Then someone wanted photos on another forum (maybe the ID forum?) so Dave cautiously added the photo upload to that forum, too. (Remember, bandwidth is/was precious, and dialup is still the only option for lots of members!)

After that, the request for photos in the various forums snowballed and now it's standard for new forums to have photos.

Also early on, Dave hit on the nifty thumbnail preview - but again, he was cautious about adding it willy-nilly for the sake of those on dialup. But it's proven popular itself to be a popular feature, so now it's pretty much standard for any new forum. However, some of the older forums still haven't had that capability added. (I added it to the recipes and cooking forums today ;o)
