This is weird... can't acess DG with Firefox

After installing a plugin in Firefox... I was no longer able to access DG. I even "Disabled" the plugin and I still was unable to access DG. I switch over to the plain vanilla Mozilla... and I have no problem.

I even tried emailing DG at admin@davesgarden.com, like the error I received said to, and the email was returned as not deliverable.

Error says:

I suspect this is obviously a conflict with the plugin I installed, "ProxySel", and wanted to just let you guys know.

Thought this was more of a DG problem than a computer problem as is why I posted it here instead of the Computer forum.

I uninstalled the plugin and as I suspected, Firefox now will access DG. That is very odd.

ProxySel is a proxy plugin. But I wasn't using a proxy to access DG, also, I tried "Disabling" it and I still had the same problem. Only uninstalling it entirely worked.

Is this a problem you guys are aware of?

Edited to ask: And what's the deal with the email address it gave me not working?

The plugin is probably changing the HTTP_USER_AGENT field in the browser, and the DG system then doesn't recognize your browser as a valid browser, thus returning the "Permission denied" error.

I don't know why the email didn't go through. We get emails every day to that address. What exactly was the error you got when you emailed?

Ahhh... after double checking the email... it was and I/O error.... "idiot/operator".

DOH!!! My bad!

I've since installed a different proxy add-on and it doesn't seem to interfere with DG..... :)
