Hi Grampapa,

Geranium sibiricum. I have lots of seeds of that one. Minus one, that is....

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

Can't enjoy the flowers for looking for the seeds!!! That's me!! Think what I"ll be like when it gets close to fall.!!

's-Gravenhage, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

Lorraine,

Make pictures of the flowers while picking the seeds. So you can enjoy your flowers in winter!

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

Cool. I've been taking pictures of all the new blooms and stuff, so I can make a scrapbook and people will know I actually grew those!!lol

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

Now, I look for seeds everywhere I go.
It's rewarding to see something developed from seeds. I have some zinnia blooming right now from seeds! I love it. It's amazing.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

My marjoram is blooming right now. I am sure hoping to snag some seeds from it :)

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

It's hard to believe that it's already seed saving time. I have bags and bags of seed heads ready to be cleaned from deadheading the garden this week.

's-Gravenhage, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

I know, it's become a fulltime job! Well, it's better than weeding anyway!

Northeast, LA(Zone 8a)

Thanks to Tuink I was able to try many different types of flowers that I didn't know were available. Not all did that well in my heat and humidity but plenty did. Thank all of you who shared seeds with me this last year. Cindy

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

yupper kitchen counters covered and moving on to the tables and desks, next bookshelves. I've rejected the 'under the furniture' idea as the dust bunnys live there and I think they eat seeds.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

dahlia...too funny :0)

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

I need to see photos of a good seed filing system. It's insane and my DH wants his dining room table back.

Downers Grove, IL(Zone 5a)

So I'm guessing you don't want a pic of my shopping bags full of brown paper lunch bags sitting all around my house??? :)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

how about my veggie bin stuffed willy nilly with seed pacs? ^_^

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm using a school pencil box right now, but it's open and overflowing and I can't close it and I can never find the seed(s) I need.

Downers Grove, IL(Zone 5a)

If you can find weezingreens, I seem to recall her having a fantastic system that houses tons and tons of seeds.

Browns Mills, NJ(Zone 6b)

Alright. My denial is over. I have Balsa tree seeds. That's right, Balsa tree. For Balsa wood. I live in NEW JERSEY . I can probably name a few more that I don't know why I have. Like maybe Sausage tree. LOL. Hello, My name is Andrea and I AM definately an addict. My gosh.

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

Hi, marcia. Beautiful hollyhocks :0) If you want to share your seeds, there is a Seed Trading forum where you can offer them

Downers Grove, IL(Zone 5a)

Ooooh! We should start a thread about the most ridiculous seeds we have in our collection! Great idea Gyspy! (Not that I have any tee hee!)

Browns Mills, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have a make-up bag that doesn't hold any make-up any more. It hold some clippers, tiny zip-locks, a marker, a baggie with a moist papertowel and my pocket leatherman. That stays in my purse now :-). I was just going through my seed box that is overflowing with too much stuff, and I found packets of seeds that I bought on one of those overlyzealous nights on the internet when I first started. I don't know what I was thinking. I think they gave me sausage seeds by mistake somewhere. I've got to find a better system for my seeds too. I like the baby wipe tubs with envelope idea. I have a plethera of those. Maybe I could label them A-D and so on so that are more manageable. My dining room has become my potting shed, greenhouse, seed seperating area, etc... Now there's a carpet with enough soil under it to grow a nursury! All I'd have to do is water. Andrea

Greenacres, WA

OK thanks I will do that they are not doubles but I really enjoy them.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

mygypsyrose you are soooo organized. I keep finding folded tissues in my purse with seeds in them and a smear of eyeliner (which was the written name at one point I'm sure). I'm making me a kit like yours. Thanks.

Browns Mills, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh, you wouldn't say that if you saw the rest of my purse ;-). I put them in there so they don't get lost anymore and nobody stares at me wondering what the heck I'm doing for 5 minutes while I fumble through all the junk in there trying to find something!

Fun thread!

I am seed addicted since I was a little girl. When other kids came home with ladybugs or frogs, I came home with seeds. I look for seeds everywhere I go. There is no way I could drive for miles in my car without interruption, when there are plants on the road side. I have to stop as soon as I see a plant of interest. Sometimes I get lost in the woods going deeper and deeper to find seeds. When I visit other people, the first thing I inspect is if they have seed pods on their plants. Seeds, seeds, seeds, they are my life.

I gave up a good paid government job with retirement and great benefits to make my dream come true and open my own online seed store. Am I crazy or what?

I don't think so. I have never looked back and didn't regret it a single minute. My days are now planting seeds, harvesting seeds, cleaning seeds, packing seeds, shopping seeds and selling seeds.

My house is full of coffee cans and ice cream buckets (God thanks my neighbor is a big ice cream eater) in which I store my seeds. There are 3 refridgerators in my garage where I store the delicate seeds and even my kitchen food refridgerator is partially used for seeds.

Oh, and when I go grocery shopping, I only buy fruits with seeds that I can plant again.

Life is beautiful!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

LOL and I thought I was tough using my ninja skills to defend my seed space in ONE fridge. WOW three!!! Link to your store please Turtlegaby. Thanks.

Decatur, AL(Zone 8a)

I cannot self promote on the boards, but you find my store link in my profile. Just click on my name to get there.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

o I'm so sorry turtlegaby (blush). I didn't know you couldn't post links to your business oops.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Hey! Kids. Do you know what time it is? No it is not HOWDY DOODY time. It is seed picking time again. I am getting some off my orange cosmos already. Here we go again says my DH. O well I am an addict what more can I say!! BEV

Yes, dragonfly, it is time again :0) and the funny thing is, I haven't finished planting the things I grew from the seeds from last year LOL. some of them have bloomed and gone to seed right in their seedling containers, so at least I'll have a second chance at them.

Turtlegaby, I'm going to check out your site.

Newport, NC

I've only started saving seeds and I can see why it's addictive. I now have a great collection for next season, some of which have already sprouted in the garden. Yeah for seeds!!

Sorry I haven't gotten arround to a have and want list yet. Still have so many to send to. If I have any left I will make a haves list and post. BEV

Carolpen, welcome to the group of addicts who do not want to be saved.

Bev, what a pretty garden! I don't have a have/want list either. I would spend all my time doing little trades and getting nothing else done. I get into the big swaps and right now I don't think I'll need another seed for life. But, of course, that will change by tomorrow when I see something I absolutely NEED. I actually ordered my veggie seeds for spring yesterday.

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

Did you guys see the Summerhill co-op? You can still join in. It said CLOSED, but it's not. The thread is just too long so they started a new thread. It's for the seeds addict. We are at 35% discount!!!

This forum is no joke, I am also a seed addict! I haven't thought of some of the things that some of you have, but now that I have read about them...oh boy. The miracle of birth.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Hello, rustyswoman. Glad we've given you some tips to help you maintain your addition. There is just something about seeds, isn't there. I was out in the garden yesterday, stuffing them into baggies. It gives me a real feeling of satisfaction...like a squirrel storing nuts for the winter.

Lili, I'm not gonna buy any, not gonna buy any, not gonna, not...well maybe I'll just take a look. thanks for the links.
