Neighbor sprayed Roundup on my property

i be great Eq!! i just got back from bringing home 14 garbage bags full of SHREDDED leaves!!! the manager told my husband i could have them. i'm amazed... this is the same man that gave me nothing but grieve for months after i moved in here!!! maybe my humble little beginning of beautiful flowerbeds is starting to win him over. i thought for sure he'd come unglued when he saw i dug up about 14 feet by 12 feet of white rock and started sheet composting the area right there next to the road... i guess he is starting to believe what my husband told him this past spring 'leave pat alone and she will have flower beds that will be so beautiful people will stop and look'

i'm at my hubby's computer with the faulty keyboard.. sorry about the cap problem! the left shift doesn't work

I'm so proud of you for the 14 bags of leaves!

Could be humble beginnings but how big is your husband ;)

Well, I don't think I be ownin any orchids. :(

Yes, my Sweet Husband is an Angel and my biggest supporter. He is NOT interested in the outdoors or anything IN the great outdoors EXCEPT for snow skiing!!! He gets so much joy out of seeing me enjoy the garden, that is his only interest in the garden! He could live in a down town apartment and be completely happy, but he knows I could not.

I've had stubborn grasses that I could not kill, applied Roundup IN my flowerbed very carefully, and not had it disturb a flower right next to it. The liatris under the dead grass came up successfully just a short time later.

I'm so sorry your neighbor was so malicious and cruel. I admit that some of the suggestions for getting even were hysterically funny. I also know none of us would DO them. Two wrongs don't make a right but its fun to scheme and dream!!!

LOL-So true, I know I have loved reading all the "evilness" in here! :)

Ummm, speak for yourself ladies! I wouldn't bat an eyelash over releasing hundreds of crickets on the lot line by the bedroom window of a neighbor like that with high hopes that most would hop on over to their side of the lot line. I'd also own a rooster if our HO Association allowed them, I'm up darn near at the crack of dawn anyway and so is everyone else who lives here so no biggie to us. And I do have to tell you that I would have definitely left a litte 8-pack with a purty ribbon of ragweed for someone speshul like that. The Wild Parsnip would be a definite no though. That would be over the top.

Eq, You are evil! :) LOL Gotta love it!!!

Truth be known, I already release crickets when I need to. Sometimes we get really weird weather in late winter and early spring. Frogs come up from the bottoms of the ponds looking really scrawny so I buy crickets and let them go. There's nothing else for my herp babies to eat and mustn't let them starve to death because of unseasonably warm weather.

I'll share something I did that friends and family were in shock over because they simply couldn't believe I had it in me to do something so retaliatory... but, there was a history with these neighbors and I didn't want to waste time in litigation with them to make a point and let me tell you I was on cloud 9 when I realized what I had done had actually had the outcome I had dreamed of having. Lemme go poking around for the thread. When I find it, I'll post it. I still have the sling shot.

LMAO-Can't wait for the thread!

And geese mate for life and that pair is still coming to their house and hanging out on their lower roof and it's been at least 3 years since I did that. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome that people so speshul are being graced at the crack of dawn by not one, but two of God's creatures.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad they take off in October for greener pastures down south or my speshul neighbors could experience the morning wake up call year round. I always know when they're back in spring. I can hear them when we've left the windows open for a nice spring early morning breeze. Puts a smile on my face. A very big smile.

Here's hoping some of their offspring locate the food source before that pair goes to goose heaven. I'd sort of like to see the torch passed.

OMG! DH said to tell you "HE LIKES YOU"!!!! LMAO

Equil I am at school (I work at an elementary school) and laughing out loud...echoing down the hall! Oh, you wicked, evil, delightful soul! *Still snorting!*

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7b)

Reading this thread and LMAO, you are a bunch of evil minded plp and just my type!! LOL One thing with geese you can train them to "guard" your property. The nitwit neighbor would have a tough time getting close enough to spray anything. Geese can really, really nasty and can certainly take care of themselves. Still think you ought to sue the creep and make him pay for not only the plants, but labor and the "pain and suffering" he's caused. Guess you need to have a-holes around to really appreciate the good neighbors you do have, but it not much fun.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Too bad we're all not close so we could go and help re plant everything and really show the neighbor what being "neighborly" is all about!

Geese are not high on my list is about all I can say.

Yaa, I was sorta thinking along those lines myself but then I looked at where she lived and I don't even have any plants that I could send her to help replace what she lost that could make it in that zone 9b heat.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, I don't know what can survive there in the heat since I have to worry about the cold! I know the big concern was for the wild life, so maybe a honeysuckle or two? They are reasonably priced and grow like wild fire, for me at least. And I absolutely LOVE them! :)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7b)

That's a great idea Equi. I don't have much either, maybe she's like some seed from my magnolia grandiflora. Since mags don't play nicely with other plants and get huge. Also got some rose of sharon which should do well in her area. Hopefully, she'll come back to the thread and we can ask.
