I agree, too much info. How come other stuff gets censored but Jasper and Al can talk about men with breast implants? Yuck.

Good morning, Candyce
Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor - Epilogue
No one pays any attention to them?
Attention to who, or is it whom?
Whom.
pirl is right...it's "whom"...as in Ernestine the operator (from Laugh-In) would say: "Is the party to whom I am speaking" ???
I censor myself - you don't want to see what gets cut ;)~
Thought I'd share a funny Thanksgiving story which happened years ago:
In 1972, when I was in high school, my mom had a stoke, and was basically "in and out" for a few years...(mentally, that is...) When it came time for TG, she said she obviously wasn't up to cooking for (at the time ) some 25 people. Three of my sisters were married at the time and living close by, so it was decided that Mom would supply the turkey, as long as the girls cooked it and all supplied the various side dishes etc., but that it would still be held at our house...which was fine.
My folks bought a 32 lb. frozen turkey, and mom called one of the girls and said the turkey would be on the kitchen table, defrosting, so she should come and get it. Fine. No problem.
We only had a 1/2 day of school the day before TG, so I get off the bus at the end of our street and start walking home. As I rounded the curve of the street, I could see 50 cop cars in the vicinity of our house, and as I got closer, I could see them in FRONT of our house. I dropped my books and went flying towards out house at high speed, thinking some catastrophe had happened.
I get to our house and see several cops CALMLY walking out and I ask them what's going on...they want to know who I am, so I explain, and they tell me, "Aaaahhh...everythings OK...your mom thinks somebody stole her turkey". !!!
Luckily, a neighbor came over when she saw the cop cars...she knew what the story was, and explained it to the cops.
The local paper wrote about it the next day, (no names given...) and the real story behind it all...but by then everyone knew who it was anyway...LOL
Sort of like the joke with the person with bad memory(nice version of saying that) who would watch the football game and enjoy it more because everytime they showed a replay of a touchdown they thought they scored again.
I think you just described the majority of women who watch football !
(I will now take a 3 week hiatus from DG to avoid the upcoming wrath for that statement !)
Especially if there is drinking and gossip going on.
Drinking is not even necessary - the gossip alone will suffice.
We had a similar event at work (before I started there) where a professor who was getting forgetful 'misplaced' a 55 gallon drum of radioactive water! All the NY news crews were there and ready for this sensational story. They were upset when it turned out it was in the freight elevator!
D'Oh! Blame it on Tbor.
The missing in action Turkey pales in comparison to a missing 55 gal. drum of radioactive water...but then again, maybe radioactive water is what made the bird grow to 32 lbs !
What would their poo do?
Jasper - Boy could I relate to your TG turkey story! My Mom had Alzheimer's disease (bless her soul!) and we learned that you had to laugh at times or you would cry all the time. So, I can appreciate that - as sad as memory loss is - no matter what the cause - you have to be able to laugh in situations like the one you described.
Oh, and Jasper.........let the hiatus begin!!!! LOL
Victor - that is an amazing story!
It'd probably be great fertilizer...for Hen and Chicks...(ugh...that was baaaaad...)
Yes it was!
Very!
DonnieBrook...you've got d mail...
Oh, Yay! I love to get mail! LOL
Don't you just love it when a group comes together like this one comes together?
Candyce - that's why the Northeast Forum is such a great place - everyone is a special friend!!! You guys are the greatest!! Eleanor
It's Election Day.
Would you believe that thy have called "No School" at the local high school so that the building can be used as a polling place?
I don't have anything to vote for today. I vote at all the electons. Would have definitely voted for 'No School' while in high school.
Schools close here too.
What are we voting for? any important issues? Victor, how can we tell which photos are yours in the other election?
Hey Louise, where do you vote? I mean which state?
out-of-it, Carrie
Schools closed here - kids are home! Was kidding about my photos. You may recognize some of them since I have posted them here or on Photos before.
Yikes -- kids home?!

Carrie - we now vote in Florida, but this is all new to us.....I don't think there was anything to vote for here!! LOL I can't wait to do the dimpled chad thing. If anyone could dimple a chad, it would be moi!!!
Voting in FL is probably good for FL, and I'm sure you could dimple a chad with the best of them! Toi, certainement! Ooops, forgot we were sticking to English, sorry, amigos. Oooops, it happened again. See what happens when you start moi-ing and toi-ing with moi?

How do people get such interesting addresses - like "anybody's guess" or "5 minute ahead"?
Trying to make Louise feel more at home ;)
Personally I like 'Nowhere'.
When I joined, I tried to use "Lower Slobovia" for my location...the brain at DG wouldn't let me !
So touching, Al! Thank you! lol
Jasper - the choices were interesting........I wanted to pick a cool time zone, but chickened out......maybe next week! LOL
Grabbed a pogo stick, Louise?
Yeah.....you know...with identity theft and all.........can't take any chances!! LOL
I'm feeling old today. I saw 'The Eagles' on TV last night. If they look THAT old, then I ....
Well, Candyce, if you will recall, this thread is supposed to be any old nonsense!
