This was a wonderful experience for my DH and I. I really appreciate everyone who helped put it together.
I was wondering who all within this group will be going to College Station RU? I know myself, Smockette, and Blue_eyes will all be going. Is anyone else from this group going?
It will be nice to meet new people, but it will also be nice to already know some people that will be there.
Charlene
Ted brought love to the RU and passed it out to any takers. Love plants that is! LOL
wow I see how many I didn't' get to meet in person now but did see them there I agree with TJ we have to do it again
Doug...dougie...hubby...honey ....Hey you....LOL
Josephine, we are from Goldthwaite not Bastrop, not that it makes any difference to most people! lol I'm not sure where Bastrop is, but it is somewhere south of us, maybe near Austin?
Now understand, and I mean this, there will be no more closeups of me posted on this forum! I have many reasons for all the wrinkles, but I don't like looking at them. Love you though!
Patricia
What wrinkles?? All I saw was a lovely smile and 2 sparkley eyes and a heart of gold..
debnes
Hey Pat what the heck are you talking about I don't see anything but a wonderful smile on a very sweet gal
Me, too. Never saw so many beautiful people. All with hearts of gold.
I am sorry pat I went and corrected it.
Sorry guys, that is as much as I can do tonight, I will get back to it tomorrow.
Josephine.
Oh I didn't' think about it til now but the baskets do not have any kind of a finish on them they are all natural so if you want to use them to put fruit or set outside in you need to put a sealer on them ...clear coat or something.
Mine is sitting on my desk with the cute little handmade cards I won. Reminds me of the love that people the world over put into things of beauty everyday.
Thanks again for such a beautiful day.
Christi
LouC, your dress is so gorgeous - all those lovely
appliques - and you looked so fresh and beautiful
in it. I'm always nervous about wearing a long dress
in the daytime - never see it in Chicago - but I'm gonna
start doing it down here. And thanks again for the
cuttings. Hope I don't kill them.
Josephine, and Dave and all who helped put this event
together - Thank you. My daughter and I had a lovely
time and enjoyed meeting such a great bunch of folks.
The park is beautiful and you couldn't have picked a more
perfect day - sunny and mild. The food selections were
beautiful to look at - such pretty presentations - and
everything we had was delicious. I'm just sorry we couldn't
taste them all. We were stuffed. Next year, I'm hitting the
pie table first !!!
Thank you all for your generous gifts and for the great
company. We had a great time and are looking forward
to next year.
The dress is probably 20 years old and I do appreciate all the kind comments. In the mid to late 80's I had a business partner and we designed and sold "wearable" art in the Dallas Apparel Mart. Had a great business but soon discovered that shops/stores were either slow or non-existant in paying their bills. After 4 years we decided if were going to give our product away it would be to people we knew and loved. The dress was a prototype that never made it to production, would have been too costly. I had a good time making it.
Several times I have started to put it in the thrift store bag but always pull it back out. If you wait long enough, most styles repeat. The "maternity" look seems to be everywhere again. When I first made this dress I was really skinny. It fits altogether different now because my figure matches the style. hahahahah. At that time, longer dresses were the style. I seldom care what "style" is in or out. Just do my own thang. Again, thank you for the sweet comments, glad you liked it. I may just start wearing it again. Sunday was the first time in years.
Christi Lou
ACK !!! No, no - not the thrift store !!!
PLEASE - let me know if you ever get that goofy and
I'll be right over to pick it up. I'll make a generous
donation to the thrift store !
Oh no, Josephine, I was *very* happy with my present this year. I'm sorry that my backyard wouldn't accomodate it, but Mitch has promised to give the beautiful little tree a very good home. The gift drawing was a hoot -- trying to get a group that large and diverse to pay attention is like herding cats. Sheila, I must say, has the patience of a saint!
BTW, Josephine, you got one of the presents that I brought. I hope you like it. Unfortunately, TJ's daughter drew the other present I brought. I hope TJ will forgive me! ha!!

That dress is great... you should make more like it - I am sure they could sell.
Carla, the mobile is very pretty I will give it a special place. Thank you very much.
