I loved them all, too - a very happy mistake. Sylvia's Solid Chocolate drew me out of lurking because it was one of the most gorgeous mysteries here this past summer. Thank you Emma for setting us straight and Sylvia for a great thread.
Ipomoea nil Grey Fog
You are welcome, Karen-blu . . .
I agree ALL of the photos that were posted are stunning!
Emma
First of all, it is a pleasure to start an discussion with you all, and that Iīm in it too :o)
Hi all and
Hi Emma, nice to talk to you again, looking forward to receive mail, I know Emma you are busy. Perhaps it isīnt Gray Fog I can have mix up the labels, but Iīm nearly sure and TAKE A LOOK AT THE PHOTO FROM TODAY.
Yes Iīve got Gray Haze and Solid Chocolate, and also Gray Mist from you Emma. But I only sow Gray Fog as I can remember this summer :o)
Well it dosīnt matter It is a beauty anyway, but it had been nice to graduate for my webpage you know, Iīm also very confuse of my two other pots I took inside of Nilīs. There seems to be mix up there too, because I think there are two kind of nil in both pots, but I write no name on my webpage at first.
Next year I shall grow the most of my seeds of Nil but only put them inside, and start very early. And I will be very careful with the label, I shall (glue them on hi hi hi)
Becky; Iīm sorry but my Nilīs dosīnt make any seeds to share. Perhaps next year, the only red Iīve harvest is from Ipo purpurea Crimson Rambler in another thread.
Thanks all for other photo of Gray Fog, nice to see how they can look different, perhaps, (this is a thought) can they look different because of soil, wind, sun, climate!!!???
Ron write in another thread that it was great for all in US in North and Canada, to read about my experiense to grow MG in Sweden in my climate. And I will grow much more next year, I really love them, it is Emmas merit, she introduce me :o) thank you.
~Sylvia
Sylvia - If you would still like some of my Gray Fog seeds, I will be more than happy to share.
D-mail me if you would like some. :-)
Hi Sylvia,
Yes, I have had an unusually busy and above and beyond 'normal' year. Things are starting to get back to semi-normal for me now - what ever that is *ha*
I still believe your beautiful bloom is the result of a stray seed. Perhaps even a seed that is the result of a cross. It seems to have more of the traits of the Solid Chocolate, however. You may have an entirely new MG from what I can tell and it will be interesting to see how it grows out for you next year.
Again, it is so wonderful to have you on the Morning Glory Forum. I will write you in the next day or so. Today is yet another day that I will be gone and won't be back until later in the day.
Emma
Very Pretty Beth -
Don't you just love this MG!
Emma
They are so "moody", it's like they have their own personality. Some days there is a darker "star" in the middle, and sometimes a tiny white edging. They change color throughout the day! One thing I can always count on are lots of blooms.
Emma, that would be a great name::: Gray Mood
Yes, I do like that name 'Gray Mood'
Beth is right, this MG will give you lots of blooms.
Emma
I like it to, perhaps I shall name my stray for Lilac Mood :o)
I like your SOLID 'Chocolate' without NO PICOTEE EDGE Emma.
~Sylvia
Sylvia . . .
Thank you.
I will send you seeds the next batch that I send to you.
Be sure to post more of your 'Lilac Mood' Blooms so we can see what they do.
Emma
