Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

Sorry guys!! Don't know where my brain was with that number!! It's fixed and now I've got the the numbers and the pictures posted down here too!!

Have to show the free gift I got with my Rob's order since it is only due to Rain and Cedar that I have it. I love it with the colors on the back of the leaves.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Finally I am home..............where is Lin today??????? I think I am caught up with marking my card................

I came home to a cold front and winds in excess of 50mph..........(Brenda is laughing.......the temps got down to almost 50 degrees)....................

Unloaded the plants from the car .........taking care of plants inside.......luggage will have to wait........clothes aren't important...........I see that no one has a bingo yet............we are all still in the hunt i suppose............

My daughter just emailed me a quick pic she shot at my one of my grandchildren's volleyball games yesterday after the game. I drove in to the gym just as the game was starting.........I just emailed her back to say that the pic made my back feel better (LOL)
Then I got up early in this morning and headed home to my favorite places........DG and home!!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss everyone............forgot to save the pic so will show later..............

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

One happy tired Nana.............left Austin at 1:30 and drove in town just in time to see a good volleyball game!!!!!!!!!! She even got all her serves over...........all 40 lbs of her!!!!!!!!!!

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Gail, you look so beautiful, happy & content! What a WONDERFUL Nana you are :)
Sounds like you had a GREAT trip!
I'm sure all your babies at home were happy to see you come home too *lol*
What a WONDERFUL picture!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

i am sitting in a stupor for the rest of the day!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I love my grands.............just like Brenda does hers........only Brenda is nice enough to baby sit...........I just love 'em and leave 'em with their parents (LOL) I used to sit all the time and don't too much anymore unless their moms leave a sitter also.

My plants grew better while I was gone..........maybe they would benefit from benign neglect!!!!!!!!!

See you ladies tomorrow when I get my pictures uploaded............in the meantime.......it may be a late nap for Nana.................

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

I've been lurking a lot, but keeping up with everyone and all the news.

Gail - love the picture, and am looking forward to all the new ones.

(Zone 1)

Beautiful Grandkids Gail! I can tell they are yours .... the resemblance is remarkable!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Hi everybody!

Brenda, you keep that collander right where you have it! I only need two more!!!

Is there anyone on right nowthat would be willing to watch my card as we draw close to the end? I am only able to check in once a day if that... Lin? Jill?

Gail... yes you DO look great and very happy with your grandbabies! What fun for you! Can't wait to see all your photos... as slow as I'll be to catch up!

Amy!!! So good to see you back with us! I'm glad you are feeling better!

I'll be here for a bit, so hopefully I can catch up on some other threads.

Karen

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Ok..................I didn't realize I took over 150 pictures of flowers this trip............not going there tonight...........but, Lin, and all my av growers.................you have to see what my older granddaughter has done with her plants......with very little extra light........and space.........I will just show you a few.........

I will show you a few before we started transplanting.........and then..........this morning at 6:30 I remembered I didn't have any pics of what we planted (I had to bring most of them home as she didn't begin to have gro light space for what she had done).........she reminded me she had had a birthday and was not 10 anymore(LOL)

********I saw your hello WildRose!!!!!!!

How cool is that Gail?? She sure is a good plant Mom.....and only 11?? Wow...hat's off to her for sure.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

You know it thrills me...............because it was my grandmother who taught me to grow.........

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I miss you guys too!

I know everyone knows how it is... I've gotta buy groceries and gas before cable!

I have been taking a few photos myself, but have no way to show them to you! :o(

Gail your granddaughter did great with her babies!

(Zone 1)

Karen: Of course I will watch your card for you! Way to go .... you only need 2 more for Bingo! Lucky you .... I still need 5!

Gail: Your grandaughter is definitely a gardener! In a few more years you will have to give her a gift subscription to DG! LOL. That is amazing that she grows Gessie's like that at the age of 11 .... Congrats to her!

North Augusta, ON

Lin...did she get her card to you?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

She is truly going to be a gardener........thanks.................and thanks for holding my cards.........

Karen, oh no!!!!!!! You just need two!!!!! Great going...........

(Zone 1)

Yes, I got VA_Wild_Rose/Karen's card! She's only needing 2 more to win! I really think we will have a couple of Bingo's this week! If I'm counting right there are only eight more calls left on the master list! I need five of them.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

You sound like me the last 3 months of bingo, Lin.............but keep your hopes up high for the best prize of all..............whoever donated streps to the biggest loser..........

(Zone 1)

:) Gail, I'm afraid if I won the Biggest Loser Prize I would have to forfeit to the next person .... I am not having luck with streps! Sowed some seeds again and hope to see some sprouts from them. One of these days I will figure out what Strep's need to be happy in my house but for the time being I think I will just enjoy all y'alls beautiful photo's!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Well, there is always something that we cannot grow.........i have given up on episcias and Kohlerias............not even going to try anymore.............

(Zone 1)

Oh, and I am LOVING the Episcia's! Haven't gotten the Kohleria's down yet and may give one a try in the Spring. But, you know ... I have so many plants I probably should not add more unless I pare down what I have. Granted, the houseplants don't require that much care, but it's getting to be a space issue! I am just praying we don't have any really cold weather this winter and no freak freezes!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

You can't move on my front porch as it is.........it is getting down again to 48 tonight which isn't bad............but I am thinking about calling the awning guy and see if he can put up some roller shades for the outside screen made of poly.............

have to go see if Valerie Planes (can't spell her last name) is on Larry King.........(the CIA lady who was outed)

(Zone 1)

Gail ... y'all are having night temp's in the 40's already?? Wow! I had no idea. We are still so hot at night ... I always have to check the outside temp when I get up during the night and it's still been 77/78 degrees at 2 in the morning some nights!! Waaaaay too hot and humid! Supposedly we are supposed to cool down over the weekend and have daytime highs around 82 and night time lows mid 60's which will be a nice change! The weather sure is weird everywhere. We have been 6-7degrees above normal for the month of October. Our normal highs for this time of year are right around 83/84 and we've been at 90/92. I look forward to a cool down!

:) I have CNN on also and yes ... Valerie Plame Wilson is on!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I couldn't remember is her name was Planes or Plame............

This is our first cold weather, Lin...........maybe you will get a cooling off.............it is just the wind that blows so hard when the weather turn cooler...........glad I don't live in southern California right now............

(Zone 1)

I know ... I am praying for all the folks out there in the fire areas! I remember the wild fires of 1998 here in our area ... very scary. And, nothing like they are having out there!

It's still 81 degrees outside here right now! I'm glad we don't get those winds like you get and especially those Santa Ana winds that California is having! I just switched to HNN because I like Nancy Grace. She's talking to folks out in California right now about the fires.

I spoke with my sister who lives in N. Georgia and they are having such a severe drought there. No rain in a long time. The lakes that supply the states water are waaay down. One article in our newspaper this morning said that the state of Ga is 3 months from having no water! State of Emergency there!

If people don't wake up pretty soon and realize this global warming is man's doing ... we are destroying this planet we live on!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

And everyone still keeps saying, 'What's the big deal'?

I heard tonight that Atlanta is actually running out of water.............

(Zone 1)

Yep ... my sister says it's pretty bad!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

don't forget tomorrow and Wednesday night are two specials on CNN.........with Sanjay Gupta and Anderson Cooper on the 'Planet in Peril'
Am afraid I am going to forget and really want to watch.........all about Madagascar with some world renowned animal guy and the climate change.........

(Zone 1)

It will be on both tomorrow night (Tuesday) and Wednesday night. So, if you miss it tomorrow night maybe you can catch it Wednesday! I want to see it too. Might set the recorder so I don't forget it .... knowing me, I would miss it both times!

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

This was such a surprise to me that I have to share it, this kind of money for a little bitty plant??? I know the flower is gorgeous but I know that little 2 inch tall plant would croak the minute I got it if I paid that kind of money for it!! LOL

Here's another one! All I've got to say is we have some gorgeous streps in our future (a couple of years I'm guessing) when these become more common and available!!

The lady in Corpus Christi was able to pick up 4 really good ones at the national convention..............The only reason I am thinking I want to go to the state convention is on the hope of finding maybe only 1 or 2 outstanding streps...........

I know that as beautiful as they are in these pictures on ebay........i just couldn't make myself pay that much to have one right now..................gosh, they are most unusual and fantastic looking streps!!!!!!!!!!!

Streps are definitely "in" for me right now...........

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Gail, would you just look at the pride on your grand daughters face! That is priceless! She looks SO proud :)
I wish my daughter would get into plants but she has no interest whatsoever :( I think it may be one of those things that interests her when she gets old (if it ever does).
Not much new happening in my gessie world :( Everything seems to be content and at a stand still. Still no roots on the leaves that I put down on 10/12 but the leaves are still very crisp and green so I'm not too worried yet.
Been "re-arranging" and doing the shuffle alot with my plants so that everything gets SOME kind of light *lol*
Even though there hasn't been any new growth per say, at least things are dying yet *lol* I guess that is a good sign :)
Karen, thinking of you daily and missing you muchly! Hope all is well and remember....one day at a time my friend :)
Brenda, can't say that this colander is working out very good for me *lol* Need the green tupperware back *lol*
Happy to report that I have all kinds of Datura seeds popping up :) Wonder what they will look like come June when I can finally plant them out *lol*
Hubby and I didn't do the "date" thing last weekend as the Red Sox had game 6 against the Indians and it was VERY important so I talked hubby into going this coming weekend instead. I really felt like "playing plants" and he really wanted to see the game so it was easy to persuade him. He went over to his parents and I made a HUGE mess in the kitchen with my babies...it was PERFECT. Our anniversary really isn't until tomorrow so we can go this weekend (although it will be game 3 in the world series games so we'll see *lol*). I remember in 2004 we stayed in a hotel for our anniversary and were sitting in the hot tub with the TV turned so that he could watch the game *lol*. He REALLY is a HUGE fan. His biggest dream is to go to a game live someday but it's just so expensive :(
Well, I guess I'm off to do my morning "check in" rounds with the babies, I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!

Kim

(Zone 1)

LOL Kim .... about your anniversary dinner! Sounds so familiar. I remember on our 25th hubby wanted to go out for a special dinner. We had been gone for a week on vacation and came home on our anniversary. I was so tired and just didn't feel like getting all gussied up to go out anywhere. So, I said "Can't we just order Pizza and stay home and watch t.v.?" He's always telling me I'm a cheap date! LOL. I do have a funny story about our wedding night! It's a clean one. We had a very small wedding late on a Saturday afternoon and a very short weekend honeymoon because he had to be to work Monday morning. So, we drove to the beach to the hotel ... got there around 9:45 p.m. Well ... just so happens his very favorite show of all came on Saturday night at 10:00 .... "MISSION IMPOSSIBLE"!!! He couldn't miss the show. We were both so tired. He watched his show and I fell asleep! Some folks just look at us funny when they ask what we did for our Anniversary and I say "Stayed home and ordered in Pizza!" We've done that a lot. And, we never go out on my Birthday. The first week of March is Bike Week in Daytona and there are close to a half million motorcycles in town .... traffic is horrendous, long lines at restaruants, so we stay home then too!

Well, I gotta get outta here and get some things done! Y'all have a great Tuesday!
