I tried to stay upwind from all the sassafras drinkers. ;-)
Seriously, that was very good. Thanks, Phyllis, for making it and bringing it.

ROFLMBO MORE!
ROFLMAOBIGTIME...way too funny to be reading ...I don't know what y'all are talkin bout cause I haven't had any problems from anything I ate or drank yesterday ..how many of you had beans??????
Those pies were awesome. They will stay with me for a while. I think I sampled all of them.
I ate everything in sight and had nooooooo problems. Except being way too full!
I had no problems either, although I ate more than i should, all the food was delicious especially the beans.
Josephine.
I am coming for them... dont worry TJ - I just need more room!
Hurry Bronc get the ones you want and hide them before he gets there ...hahahahaha...I still have alot of little pines and sassafras coming up here
Mibus, I wish I'd have known you has sassafras trees.. What would it take for me to get one of those that are "coming up".
debnes
ummmm heck diggin one or 2 up is no problem at all ....my only days off are Sundays and Wednesdays but I suppose we could meet someplace but it has to be easy to find since I don't know my way around Texas real well yet OR if you happen to be coming this way you cold stop by ...LOL
I have a pine tree that Mitch put in my car. Phyliss, is it one of yours? Actually I have a lot of things that Mitch put in my car that I don't know what it is or where it belongs.
LouC
it very well could be.... .he got pines, elms, sassafras, oak, cedars, american beauty, persimmon, yucca...and some starts of youpon and wax myrtle.
Wow, he can start his own forest!
Yes yes I can--- knida the goal here for the school. LouC I am coming there too - dont worry!
Sure Mibus~~ I will dmail you.
Thx!
debnes
Hey, Mitch. Not worried for my sake. Just wanted you to be sure where everything is.
Taking good care of all the plants.
What a great bunch of people ! I so enjoyed meeting
those I did and I'll make it a point to meet the rest of you
next year, and that's for sure.
PMS Pie? How did I miss that and where does Mibus2
have the recipe posted? Oh, wait - I'm past the PMS stage -
so does that mean I can't have any ?
The company was wonderful, the food delicious, and the
weather couldn't have been more perfect. Bronc was so
kind - he gave me a Mexican Sage bush - thank you so much,
and Josephine loaded me down with Four O'Clocks and
blue salvias and a Yellow Bells I had been longing for.
What a swell lady - really a lovely person - and her husband
ain't half bad either :o) And LouC let us take cuttings from
her huge and glorious Grape Ivy. Thank you, one and all.
Got to meet "The Dave" too !!! Very swell guy.
City Sylvia is a blast :o) My daughter came along and says
she's coming back next year too - both for the swell folks and
the great food ! Heck, I think she's getting interested in
gardening and when she gets her own place next year, once
she has finally moved her stuff down to Texas and is set in
her new job, I think I might have to sit on guard duty with my
plants on the day she moves out. Well - maybe I'll share,
like you all did with me. Thanks again for a wonderful day.
I had to fill your car and TJs bed.... the gardens here should look stunning in the Spring. I hope to have a spring dedication of them and invite all of you to come.
Mitch, you are a real prize - one in a million -
so thoughtful. Those kids and the school are very
lucky to have you.
Mahnot nope your not past the stage of eating it LOL...especially if the guys tried it and liked it too.
It was at the beginning of the dessert table next to the glass dish with the apple slices ...had whipped cream on top with choc. and carmel swirled on top.
that is just the name we gave it since it covers everything you would crave.
I am trying to give them what they need... trees and fresh air and a school they can be proud of...
I think I have some bamboo. Probably came from Phyllis. At first, I thought it was a water plant and have it soaking in water. Won't hurt it anyway. Obvious that it is in sand.
They will kill you when they find out you are planting that at school. hahahaha.
Mibus2....On the PMS pie...I didn't get any either!! Guess we will have to make a "Better than sex" cake next time! LOL!
Mitch, LouC and Bronc ya know I am JUST teasin y'all about all of Mitch's' plants for school and spreading them among the cars to get them home
Sure, babe. We tease everybody all the time. I'm the one that gets in trouble because sometimes I come across as sarcastic and that is the absolute last thing on earth that I would ever mean. Black and white words are hard without any inflection. Go to the thread on Dave's Garden that is discussing the periods. Funny, funny. All about how to give inflection. No way.
LouC
OH Wait a sec I DID NOT bring living bamboo to the round up !!!!!!!!! ROFL...seriously I didn't the only thing I brought that was bamboo was the wind chime so If there is bamboo there is wasn't' me. BUT if anyone wants some I have plenty to share just make sure you have it set to go in a spot that keeps it contained...liek surrounded by cement that goes down about 28 inches.
Sheila I agree but we can do the cake and the pie next time. lol
Mitch must be laying low...
mm do ya think he is dreaming of pie or maybe a nightmare of all the trees to plant ...hahahahaha
Both.
His response earlier was while he was at work, bet he is home planting now!!
still at school at 6:49 pm ...well if they have a fall festival then he could have been I suppose.
Just got home... and the trees are all going to school. All of them..
Bamboo!! I have a spot at school for bamboo... ringed with sidewalks... just perfect.
And yes - I did sooooo need help to get all the plants home. You all are sooo wonderful to have given soooo many plants and - Bronc and LouC thank you for letting me use your cars to get them all back here!
No wonder you left so quickly Mitch! You didnt have any room for more! LOL!
You need to start a thread with pictures of your planting areas at school and how they are progressing. Oh and get the kids involved with the Butterfly seed swap that Beckygardener is getting started.
Here is that link. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/784913/

oh dang we are busted out now he's here ...hahahahaha
If ya really want bamboo I have plenty of roots to share..it is what is called a craft grade meaning stuff like the wind chimes or stakes for plants can be made from it ..heck I was even told you can eat the young shoots in the spring LOL
anyone have a backhoe and want to show up with it you can have all the bamboo & roots you want...LOL
Mitch, you know I offered to carry plants and am glad to do so. I'm honored if I can help you in any way. You have helped me immeasurably. For those of you that don't know, Mitch lives about 6 miles or less and has become my plant mentor. As you already know, I have a white flower, red flower, yellow flower,....don't know the names of anything or what to do with them. Mitch to the rescue. I'm very fortunate to have such a good friend. Never, ever would mean to give him a hard time.
LouC
Mitch is a dedicated teacher. Not that many left. I know the school and the children need all the encouragement they can get. Mitch is just the person for it. God puts each of us where He needs us most. God bless Mitch each and every day.
LouC
Oh LouC I mean no harm just jokin around that is why I put the LOL and such in so it is known that I am only jokin.
I think it is great what Mitch is doing and wish there were more teachers like him...back in Illinois where I came from alot of them weren't as nice it was all about the paycheck.
of course getting paid what you are worth isn't' easy either but when the holidays or the end of the school year came around you found out even as a bus driver just how much of a difference you made to those kids.
LouC - thank you... really thank you. I think God did put me there for now and I want to do what I can while I am there.
I am trying to really get everything going at the school and I really want baddly to get everything put together for a Spring openning of the Gardens to all my wonderful friends on there. Photos can be tricky to post online without some district red tape - but when you all come out for the opening you can take all the photos you want and post :-) So long story short - just wait for Spring!!
Mibus - right... you got the right idea going there.
Mibus2, ???. Didn't think you were after Mitch. I just was trying to let everyone know just what a super guy he really is.
