Shipping boxes questions

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

I ship alot of boxes, and I should know the answer to this question but I don't.

I ship through usps and fedex

If I want to ship a box express mail or prioirty mail I can do so through usps.com
But I cannot ship a media rate or parcel post package through usps.com it won't allow me to use those two options when shipping boxes.

I can however If the item was an ebay item and paid through paypal , I can ship a box media rate or parcal post through the paypal web site. or ebay web site on my ebay page.

BUT here's the big But , LOL, If I just have a box to ship that wasn't purchased through ebay or paid for through paypal.

I cannot find a web site to ship the box media rate or parcel post rate without taking the box to the P.o. myself and shipping that way.

I prefer to do it all on the net. But I sell alot of books, and if their not paid for through paypal and not sold through ebay I have to bring them to the p.o. for them to put a postage label on them.

AND believe it or not. You get a price break shipping on line, and the postal rates are more expensive than on line rates. You may not believe this but it is true. Especially for parcal post and media rate boxes.

Any clues as to where one can print off postage labels that include the option of sending these two ways if one isn't doing it through ebay or paypal?

I need to find another postal label printing place that includes media rate and parcal post.

thanks for the help in advance.

Isn't that annoying? I run into that all the time, too. USPS has chosen not to make media mail and parcel post available through their website - I don't know why and when I asked they didn't give me a reason. There is no work around, I'm afraid. If they don't pay with PayPal, we have to stand in line at the post office. Ugh.

It's because media is a discounted rate, and they want to inspect the packages even though they often don't.

In many post offices they have posted signs indicating that they reserve a right to open the package later, and often when you ship media (I used to sell books sometimes) the person at the counter tries to grill you by asking what is in the package. There are regulations limiting what you can ship media, and people cheat. I've purchased things that the seller shipped media even though it was not allowed, like a t-shirt.

I certainly understand that, but they reserve the right to open up any boxes. not just media rate packages. I still don't understand why you can't print off a media rate label, who's going to stop them from opening the package to check?
