Error Reports being sent to myself from myself

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

This has happened a time or two before. I sent in an error report this morning and when I check my d-mail this afternoon, there's the error report I sent in to the Admin with no reply underneath it (as if I sent it to myself). Is this normal?

Sounds like something from the Twilight Zone!

Sounds like a bug in the system or something. Have you ever heard back from Admin? I'm wondering if they ever got your error report?

No, haven't heard back and there's no reply to the error report like there usually is.

Xenomorf, I did do your Typha domingensis image move report this evening. Did you get a reply to that one?

One of your reports is still in the pending queue. It's the duplicate image one.

Are these the same ones that came to your dmail? And unanswered?

Hi JoanJ
Yes these are the ones that came to my D-mail.
The 'Typha domingensis' d-mail had a reply to it.
But I was not expecting to see the 'duplicate image" d-mail until there was a reply to it.

That's interesting. Hopefully Dave or Terry can help us figure out why you are getting them before we've replied.

I just did the duplicate image one too, so if you don't get it, let me know.

Yes I just recieved the alert that there is a reply to the "duplicate image" image one.

What time did you get the unanswered dmail? I answered the first report at 5:05 P.M. Mountain Time. Did both reports, the answered one and the unanswered one, come at the same time, or close to that time?

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

I don't know long the 'unanswered' one was sitting there, but I sent it at 6:42 am (my Time).
And I noticed it there, with no reply, when I got the 5:05pm alert.

I'll have to get back to this later, I have to leave now.

I would guess an error report automatically copies the sender.

In my experience, it does show up as a message in your dmail eventually, but not until one of the admins responds to it. Once they respond, you can see their response as well as your original message, but I've never seen it show up in my dmail before the admins' response comes through.

Dave recently made a change in the way the main heldpesk and the PlantFiles helpdesk replies are created. They now come from a general "admin", instead of the admin's personal username/account.

Since that change, I believe all error reports initiated by a logged-in member now create a dmail "thread" between the member and "admin".

Long story short - if you report an error, and you're logged in, you'll see it as a dmail in your inbox (even before an admin replies to it.)

Thanks Terry.

Guess I must have not noticed it on mine. I usually don't go into my dmail until it tells me I have a new message though, that's probably why I missed it.

ah hah! so, it's not a bug... it's a feature! ;-)

Thanks for figuring out what was going on with that, Terry.

It's just like if you initiate a message to anyone via dmail - you'll find that note in your inbox, even if the other person hasn't yet replied to it.
