Blooms October 9th - 12th

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Woops, how could I have forgotten Erin Rachael, with her glow in the dark, look-at-me bloom!

Karen, Erin is a knockout.
I was busy all day, so didn't take pics of Nightfire, Louise Bennett, Madame Dupont and Key Lime Pie.
Took the Muddogs to puppy play care and proceeded to put my patio back together. We put lattice all around the patios, so the dogs are puzzled, cuz they have no way to escape, lol. A job well accomplished!

So if they can't get off the patio, does that mean the attack dogs are no longer standing between us and your hibbies? Karen--I think it might be time for that Florida road trip! LOL

Liz, rev up the bus and grab your plant ninja costume - where's Gordo??????

Blueberry Thrill here we come!

Oh wow you guys - great blooms!!

Boxford, MA(Zone 6a)

If I don't get some of these flowers I will fall into a deep depression.

Should I buy now and hope that I can overwinter in a dry basement, or should I wait until spring?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Normally I would never tell someone to wait (it's all about instant gratification!) but in your climate you're really not going to get to enjoy the blooms that much until next year anyway, so if you're not completely confident in your overwintering plans, it might be better to wait. The cultivars that are available now will still be available in the spring, and there'll be new ones to pick from too, so I really don't think you're losing much by waiting, and then it's less trouble for you over the winter.

Boxford, MA(Zone 6a)

I am perfectly confident in my overwintering plans. It's just that my plants don't always agree with those plans!!! I have a well-thought out light system and humidity trays-- BUT some of the darned plants die anyway! ALWAYS the ones I value most. The huge pink bougainvellia I treasured died last year, but the dime-a-dozen geranium did just fine. *sigh* I'll guess I'll have to look forward to spring '08!
I won't be happy until I have my own greenhouse... someday!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

I'm with you on the greenhouse, Jax. someday. You have light, humidity, space.... I'm not going to disagree with ecrane, it would be simpler to wait until Spring...but IF you wanted to try 2 or 3 -(can't just order 1, I mean you're paying for shipping, anyway, gets cheaper per plant when you order more ;) - I have always stored them in a dimly lit cool basement with minimal water and I've lost a few over the years... my winter experiment with more light and water... I hope to see blooms... I really shouldn't order anymore now, myself.... but..... Oh, I'm not... I have enough specimens for the trial... BUT, IF you do get some now, I would put them in a sunny window or under lights to keep them growing... I like a well established root ball before I allow to go semi-dormant.
