October Bingo Calls #2

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

I hope to donate a prize in the upcoming months.
It most likely won't be a financial prize but more of a hand made prize for someone who might want something other than plants....yes ladies, there's things other than plants *lol* (hubby keeps trying to convince me of that anyways *lol*)

(Zone 1)

Kim ... I have been wondering and keep forgetting to ask you - your user name is Kimskreations and I really want to know about what your creations are! I figure you must be talented and crafty! So, c'mon, fess up .... tell us what you make!

If memory serves, she used to make these awesome beaded plant hangers! That was you, right, Kim?

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL I crochet from thread and have made many 1 of a kind works of art :)
I also am a pretty good knitter.
I have made all my own beaded plant hangers which are all unique
This year my daughter and I made quilted ornaments with fabric and I have been making big light balls that the guy down the street sells for $45 that cost me about $5 to make on my own *lol*
I enjoy it but around this time so many people want something or need something made that it's hard for me to keep up.
Right now I am working on a double wedding ring doily for my mother in law for Christmas and then I have probably 50 dishcloths i need to whip out *lol* So it will most likely be after Christmas before I can do anything for Bingo :(
My mother in law wants a light ball and my sister and law thinks they are "amazing" so I will be making her one too *lol*
KimsKreations was going to be the name of my SOMEDAY greenhouse where I would sell plants that I raised, propagated, hybridized and also sell my handmade items too. My customers would shop sipping on a cup of hot apple cider freshly made on the pot belly stove that warmed my greenhouse. I would work on my handmade items between customers (and there were going to be alot of those *lol*)
This will never happen but it worked out so wonderfully in my head.

OK Kim....time to wake up!!

(Zone 1)

Ok ..... can someone give me directions to the Kimskreations greenhouse??

Never say Never Miss Kim! It's wonderful to dream .... you know, if you don't have a dream it can never come true. But, you never know! I sure would love to see some pictures of your creations! I have no creativity whatsoever. My MIL taught me to knit one stitch back in 1969 and I knitted and knitted and ended up with this loooong rectangular scarf type thing ... ended up using it as a birdcage cover!! I have no clue how to even begin knitting somehting now. I bought a book last year and yarn and needles - thinking I could teach myself how to do some narrow scarves .... ha! The book, needles and yarn are in a bag in a closet somewhere!

Many years ago (the 70's) I did macrame plant hangers ... don't have a clue now how it's done! At one time I did a few small hooked rugs too ... have no clue how to do that anymore either! My memory gets worse with each passing year.

Please show us some pic's of your creations!

I know there is no way that KimsKreations will happen in this lifetime so I keep the dream alive by using it as a handle everywhere I can (even E-Bay *lol*)

Sending you a D-Mail :)

Elaine: You can see pictures of some Russian Violets on the Bluebird Greenhouse Website: http://www.bluebirdgreenhouse.com/

I have purchased plants from them a few times and they have always been very healthy. I've never tried one of the Russian AV's but I know Gessiegail has some and they are Gorgeous!

Oh ... and Bluebird always sends a free plant with your order too!

Kamikid: Lyndon Lyon's has a wonderful reputation too! I have not had the pleasure of buying from them (yet!) but so many folks here on DG swear by them! I am going to order in the spring! And, I will always order from Bluebird too!

Somewhere in a closet or drawer in this house I have a pair of pink/white Bloomer Pot Holders like that. They were given to me by my Mother In Law many years ago and there was a printed poem of sorts that went with it. I don't remember for sure but either my MIL or my hubby's Grandmother is the one who crocheted them. Gotta go search now and find them. I just remember they were very old and stained and nothing I ever used. But, they were cute. I know they are around here somewhere, although last year I sent my hubby to the thrift store with his truck filled with boxes of stuff. I am gonna look for them tomorrow!

Oh how neat Kim.You are really talented.Love all your fancy work...I have a set of bloomers potholders that my Grandma made long long ago...I keep them in a cedar chest with my other keepsakes..I had to smile when I saw the light ball.My folks have had one of them for years.Thats my dads favorite decoration for christmas.I always have to hang it right in the center of their picture window so everyone can see.Do you make yours from Clear Solo cups too and Do you use blinking lights in yours? the one the folks have..the gal who made it used a switch so you can have it blink in 5 different patterns I think. They really are neat.No one around here makes them anymore.

Well i got off track looking at all the pretties! Out of the 10 calls made so far I am up to 3.Some of you are really doing good..and some are more like me....

(Zone 1)

I'm in the running for the biggest loser prize with just 1 on my card so far!

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Oh goodness Lin..Only 1?..Just wait..Things will pick up and..you will probably pass us all by and be the first to yell Bingo!

(Zone 1)

I'm gonna try my best to catch up, I gotta start getting some soon ... it isn't possible to end up with just one! This is usually how I start out ... real slow and then all at once start getting every call!
