Funny! Yes, I know what you mean.
A dumb question
UGI
This is why our HS students are abysmal on the English part of the SAT's!
LOL on this site there are a bunch of referals to RU...(round up?)
Although in text messaging (tm?) ru= are you....
so you can imagine my confusion when I would read a post stating "are you going to the RU"? in my feeble mind I was reading "are you going to the are you?" and Im wondering what word got left out! LOL!
There should be be a dictionary printed with all these shorthand or shorttext abbreviations! LOL
When I first joined and saw "DH" then realized what it was..I felt funny using it. Dear Husband? Umm, No.
PCBH (Pure Country Boy Husband) Yes
APH (Accident Prone Husband) Yes again!!
Oh and DD (Dear Daughter) MOST days!
DH suits my man just fine...Dufus Head :)))
D can mean many things...
lol! APH (Accident Prone Husband) That is my hubby to a T! always has bumps and bruises...most days comes home with all his limbs and fingers too! LOL
During winter we're okay but once gardening season begins we call it the "Wound du Jour". The band-aids stay out for the rest of the season.
Ooohhhhh!
Has he tried those cute little Ratatouille band-aids??
No. We use the Bacon Band-Aids. They're so cute!
Band-aids don't work for my DH 's kind of boo-boos.
Chain saw to the knee about 1/4 mile in the woods.
Car accident~removed 3/4" of collar bone and complete removal of AC joint.
Nail-gun through the hand,
Jack Hammer slipped, shattered right pinky. Had to be set and sewn shut.
Nail-gun into the heel, thru the boot, achilles tendon and into the bone. 5 yrs.=5 surgeries.
Those are just a few, im not going to list them all as I may realize divorce would of been a better alternative! LOL
OMG Pixie. So power tools should be supervised there too. My DH does not hurt himself much, but he does tend to get carried away and damage things. Like melting flower pots with his flame thrower, cutting down all annuals with weed wacker, digging up lawn with airator rake and so on and so forth. He has several tools now I must know exactly what he is going to do before he can go out and play. :)
I no longer call it 'playing'...more like 'Brian's version of Russian Roullette'.
You better keep your distance, Celeste!
DH was hospitalized and had many stitches in his leg when one of the steps on a small ladder gave way.
He almost lost sight of his eye when paint remover (Zing) splashed back in his face and it was only the daily visits to the eye doctor for 10 days that saved his sight.
I've been hospitalized twice due to gardening injuries.
It's not all just little band-aid type incidents but all the big injuries make the small ones seem minor, regardless of the blood.
I agree Pirl. What you never think of is always what finds a way to happen!
I'm trying to buy a good knife for cutting back some plants and safety is always the first thing I think of - therefore I haven't yet bought one.
Geez, people be careful out there!!!!!!!!!
Pixie how did your hubby get a nail gun to his heel?
His co-worker shot him on accident.....4 stories up on a roof. His co-worker almost learned how to fly that day.
I don't doubt that.
Lol! well, I guess my hubby's bumps and bruises are now just scratches !
He does tend to keep a messy workspace, so he's always tripping over things when he's using his power tools. I just keep refering to his workshop as the OSHA protocol shop for what NOT TO DO! LOL! Most of his 'accidents' that were serious happened before I met him, I just get to see all the scars and hear the stories....Doesnt make me want to leave him alone in his shop for very long.... I have to keep checking on him to make sure he still has all his limbs :o)
