Okay, I'm new to this great forum. I love the way you all are so serious about gardening but don't take yourselves seriously. But I have been really puzzled by your abbreviations. I thought Candyce needed a designated driver (DD) to go to the reunion (RU?) till I saw the picture of Anna and realized the first D must stand for dear and the second D for daughter and the group probably wasn't all that wild. I think that explained DW (dear wife?) and DH (dear husband?). But what is LOL? Land o' lakes? Lots of luck? And are there any more of these I should know about?
This is sort of embarrassing but the only way to find things out is to not be afraid to look dumb.

lol.....I can see how it could be confusing RU is a round up, LOL is lots of laughs....there's more but my brain has gone blank...somebody will come along and tell them....it's a wonderful forum isn't it? everybody is soooo nice...

One other group that I am on used "HBL" to describe their hubbies ... as in 'Hunka Burning Love'!! Don't know how that would set with the gang here.
Apparently they are even using them in colleges! LOL

bebop - this brings back memories of when I first subscribed to Dave's Garden. I didn't know what anyone was talking about. I couldn't even figure out DH!! I finally went on-line and checked out some websites for acronyms and found out what they were abbreviations for plus a whole lot more!! I didn't know what a thread was either and I was so confused, but then one day a light bulb went on and it's been flickering ever since!! My son and I got into a discussion about that one! LOL, he said he knew what it meant, I asked him what it was and he said 'I dont know!' ? So I asked him why he said he did know, if he didnt know and he said " I dont know!" it took a good 5 minute discussion ~on a friday after a full week of work!~ before my lightbulb finally flickered and I realized that IDK= I Dont Know! LOL! He still laughs about the whole conversation, I'm glad I can amuse him so... :)
