Buggy's at it again

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Ah Mags, when you start waxing poetic like that I can't help but get my checkbook out and kissing a few bucks away (actually, more than a few). The envelope is sealed but not in the mail yet.... there is still hope, right (of abstaining)?

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

wrong pard just go to the mail box you know you want to man I hope mine get here tomarrow I can hardly wait LOL

You know what's crazier, is each year I think I enjoy them more. Pard, I can't believe you haven't even bought one thing yet. Ma'am, you need to teach classes ;)

I love 'Silk Road', but I guess I don't stop there. I say get what you're drawn to, and try it, because what someone else might not be as successful with, you might be. If you like it, give it a chance.

I give waaaaaay too many a chance. But I love it.

I can't wait to plant.....

Well, I just found out that Buggy also sells her lilies at the Eugene Farmer's Market. This is info that I did not need to know! I happen to enjoy road trips... (unless it's pouring rain, then it's boring)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Susybell, I can do one better: Order from buggy and she delivers them to me AT WORK. Now that's service!!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Spoiled brats....... ;)

I'll get a couple from our lily society sale but I'm kinda happy with myself that I haven't ordered anything(!) this Fall. I need to get a handle on my garden as it is and plan for it's expansion. Or redesign. Or whatever kind of help it needs.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Wow. Delivered. I'm floored.... That is amazing.....

Moby, good for you...Sounds like your plans are....uh, kind of open......? Do you have something in mind? Sounds like it could be a big project

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Kinda wish I had something IN my mind.

The gardens at the old house took 10 years to develop their charm, something I'm sorely lacking these days. It's not nearly have fun to add new goodies when it's just "the garden plot". It will come, and will take time. But it's all good. :)

Any suggestions for burying a super bulb?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Intercessor, you bought a superduper? lol. Hire a backhoe.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Couldn't resist. The pull of the super bulb got to my brain...

Didn't get the super-dupers, very $$$

Dynamite.

Wow, wonder what postage is on a super-bulb? It's kind of like planting a basketball, isn't it? LOL

Wicker, there is cool weather on it's way for you!!! :) It was in the 80s here yesterday and is 58 right now.... Of course, tomorrow is supposed to be just 55, but it will warm up a bit for the weekend. A good weekend for bulb planting!! :)

I just wish we had a bit more light at night, I could be out longer... *sigh* But most of all, I wish those little teeny tiny little black bugs would bite the dust instead of me..

Agawam, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm waiting on my first order from Buggycrazy. I ordered from her by reading how great she is on your posts. I ordered Queen Kong, Leslie Woodriff, Touch, Scheherazade, Scarlet Delight, Beauty Rose, Georgette, Godzilla, Honeymoon, & King Kong. I just couldn't stop ordering. I want all the lilies she has for sale. I go to her site just to look & plan what I want to order next.

You'll be very pleased....

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Planting the bulbs will be good therapy for me this week. Took my mom in for chemo this morning and then drove right over to my grandpas funeral today :*( Lived next to him for 30+ years... Sorry didn't mean to change the subject.

Intercessor,

I'm so sorry you're having such a horrible, sad day. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your grandfather.

Andrew, my prayers are with you during this difficult time. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of your Grandpa. You must have many special memories from living next to him for over 30 years. How wonderful that you had the opportunity to have such a close relationship with him.

Hoping your Mom's treatments are successful. She is lucky to have a son who is there for her through this.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

There is something peaceful about tucking a bulb away in the dirt and waiting for it's arrival in the spring. I should have Buggy bulbs in a day or two.
I am glad that my parents only live 5 minutes away in a country-ish setting. I visit often during the summer and just sit out and enjoy their landscaping and large maples blowing in the wind. Good place for my daughter to run around too :*)

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Wow, Andrew, you've had a rough time of it lately. I'm sorry for all your heartache. Buggy's bulbs will at least bring you a bit of peace..

Sorry to hear, Andrew. Some serious 'dirt therapy' is in order for you! Always makes me feel better whether I'm mad, sad or just plain grouchy. :)

dleff ~ I'm soooo jealous that you got a Queen Kong!

Gloria ~ you'll love Brooke (my g-ma) For it's first year, it grew so tall and bloomed wonderfully.

On a happy note, I have irises and daylilies blooming. In October!

Moby, that's because you're so "special." :)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Oh yeah, I'm sure that's it.....

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

How did you get iris to bloom in Oct.?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Not me, it's a reblooming iris. Or maybe it's just because I really am that special!

Nah...... pretty sure that's not it. :)

There's a whole bunch of them http://www.rebloomingiris.com/list_of_iris_-_1.htm

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Aw, I still think you're "special." :) Who do you have re-blooming in your gardens at the moment?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Wish I could tell you who this iris is but it came from one of my LOL (little old lady) clients. She's 92 and can't do the garden maintenance any more so I help her. In return she gave me 4 rebloomers. I see a stalk coming up in another clump.

Also making appearences are Wild Horses and Fallen Angel daylilies. Kinda fun!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Grief is tough. My heart goes out to you guys, intercessor.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

They are called "re-bloomers' because they bloom in the fall & spring! LOL I have tecnically 32 iris rebloomers in my garden but only see the same 2-3 each year. Sigh.

On the other hand, some of my re-blooming daylilies are responding well to the fall rains.

Intercessor - my prayers and thoughts are with you. I went through chemo a couple of years ago - breast cancer. I think it was sometimes harder on my loved ones, then it was on me. I'm a nine year cancer savior.

I got my blubs today from Buggy Crazy. I really can't believe how big they are. It's raining here in MA., I can't plant them today. I can't wait to get them into the ground.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks for your kind words. Glad you are a survivor!

Andrew

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

No re-blooming iris for me this year---cold snap in the spring & wet summer. Iris clumps are still recovering. Brer Rabbit's Baby has decided to bloom again... I think it is alot happier since I moved it away from a brick walk and into partial shade.
