Haydenville, MA(Zone 5a)

Just received my order.....lovely bulbs, both Lilium and Narcissus....
Only problem is, they are so BIG!!! :)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Don't worry, if those lily bulbs are too big, you can send them to me. Lol!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

I can't wait to get mine. But it's getting up to almost 90 degrees today. Hard to believe it's bulb time.

I got mine Friday!!!! *doing the happy dance of joy all around the room* My husband thinks I'm nuts. :) LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Is that something new? ;)

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

What? That I'm doing the happy dance of joy all around the room or the fact that my husband thinks I'm nuts? Oh wait, neither is new.. LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

hee hee

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Still waiting.... I prefer the warm weather rather than bulb planting weather though.

Haydenville, MA(Zone 5a)

Warm is really not too bad except I wonder if the bulbs will get confused. My BODY likes the warm better than cold, wet blah. been there done that.
I can't believe the leaves haven't really changed much yet this year. Very wierd. too bad for all the leaf peepers that are starting to travel....

Sanford, MI(Zone 5a)

I got my tango liliys and allium saterday from Brecks (I know Iknow) but I got them in the ground today and we will see in the spring I,v allways gotten good stuff from them before

Got my order from Buggy on Friday! My first from her - I'm so excited!!! Was even able to get everything planted over the weekend.

Parma, OH(Zone 5b)

Received my first Buggy's order the other day and decided
to put them in the fridge till it cools off. Mid to high 80's but
expected to go down to 70's later in the week. Ordered DOC,
FireStar, Henry's Surprise & Casa Blanca. Purple King (OT)
still to come from Lily Pad.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

I guess she likes to vent. For better or worse...

Parma, OH(Zone 5b)

Make no mistake about it. Her bulbs and service are A1.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

i did grasp her venting...and thanks for letting me know she is a good business:)

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I just got a shipment notification, too. I'd just sent an email to modify my order, too! Darn! I figured I had a week or two yet if all you Z5 folks hadn't gotten your orders yet.

Whew, She got my email before she actually shipped! She's said she can modify it! Yay!

Buggy is very accomodating to her customers, isn't she! I haven't ordered yet. I've been trying to ignore this thread. I don't need any more lilies now. I'm still working on redoing the beds and getting the ^%#$^! garlic out. But... but..... ( and then there is the PNWLS catalog sitting there neglected, poor thing).

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Don't forget to post a Garden Watchdog report for Buggy if you haven't already... Not sure how 29/30 = 95% though? http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/3719/

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Buggy's great! Yes, I've been lurking here, too, until today. My poor PNWLS catalog is feeling sad and lonely, too. I told myself I needed to step away from the catalog for a while before I ordered anything.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Well, the PNWLS leftovers will be at the meeting..... no guarantees what will be left though. Then there is usually not much left....

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I'm trying to get my order down to a smaller amount. I even made an extra photocopy of the order sheet so I could mark all over it. Do you think Silk Road is a must-have lily, or are there others that are similar and a better choice? Is its fragrance as good as I've heard?

Southeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Got my Buggy lilies planted today. :-) It's my first order with her.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Hmmm.... "must-have" is in the eye (or nose) of the beholder. It is a very nice lily, tall (5') strong stems, clear colors, nice fragrance.

I would have nothing but orientals if they bloomed all season and in a great variety of heights ~ so that's where all the others come in. :)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Well? What did you get??

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I don't think it is a must-have, I went for years without it but have it now. It is not in a good place (too wet in winter) so has not thrived, but I am going to move it up closer to the house to higher ground. It is fragrant and fertile (if you are interested in that sort of thing). It is probably the best of that type (white orienpet with dark cherry center). Altari is similar. If it is just fragrance you are looking for, orientals are fragrant and usually cheaper. I find orientals a bit fussier than the orienpets, mainly because of my lousy growing conditions.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I like tall and less fussy, and fragrant. It's also cool to support the "hometown girl"-and that there IS a "hometown girl", lol. My real issue is that I'd like some of the Mak lilies because they're a little harder to find, but they're all in a bulk pack, or a June Asiatic. I want to add more late-season ones, like Elise, and Uchida (who was is that had this blooming at the end of Sept?) I'm also really into hummingbirds, so I want to add more for them. But, I really need to keep my order cost down. DG has been very hard on my gardening budget. I've let myself go a bit wild this summer but I need to rein myself in now.

Yes, as usual, caught between wants and wallet, sigh....

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yes it hard to choose and then cut back. Uchida is just a selection of speciosum rubrum. Buggy has that one for 3 bucks each. You don't have to get a bulk pack. Email her and she can open your box again lol. Uchida is a bit darker than the regular strain but late bloom is the same for the speciosums. Mine just finished up with the last petals dropping.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Huh, how'd I miss that on Buggy's site......She's going to hate me, save all her smallest bulbs just for me, lol....

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Hmmmm, I dropped my PNWLS order in the mail yesterday. It's so hard to keep the order down, I was like a kid in a candy store... I kind of didn't tell my husband how much I spent, actually, I didn't tell him I ordered. It's better that we have this "he doesn't ask and I don't tell" relationship with most of my gardening pursuits. About the only thing I'll fess up to is my Hosta addiction.... He doesn't mind that, cause it doesn't require me taking more of his "lawn" for my garden beds. Good grief, we have 10 acres.... Don't you all think I should at least get half? :) LOL

Oh, and I did get Silk Road, Uchida and a few others. :)

Diann

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Ha! Buggy wouldn't know how to send small bulbs to anyone!

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi Diann,
lol, I told him all about joining PNWLS and how it would save me all this money (I don't join lots of things, usually) So, I've got to order so I can say how the membership saved me so much it just paid for itself, etc, but I'm feeling like I overdid it this year in general. What are the spring sales like?

And, yes, you absolutely should get half!!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Could I have an acre?

Just got word that TWO packages are on their way from Buggy. And the heat is on its way out, thank goodness. I love summer, but I think we've had more than enough now.

Southeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Moby, I got five Arabian Red orientals. You know how I am. ;-)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

I love Buggy's personality too. You've got to admit she puts it right out there for you. You certainly aren't left to wonder what is going on there ;)

I will wait for my box, and whenever it arrives, it will make it a great day, rain or shine. Lily planting season is my favorite. You all should be commended on your efforts in abstaining from the PNWLS sale, mine hardly made it in my hand before it flew out my hand, list in tote.

This is the time to look forward to next years gardens, lilies new and old, and so many colors that make me smile. Each day a new blossom, each day a new surprise. They are all so beautiful.

I can't wait to plant.... Can you tell?
