For you, Gordo
Martindales Nursery Part B
Maybe it is the season, browns always look good in the Fall, but this one is stunning.
I love hibiscus!! Do you have a nursery? The pictures are fabulous!
Matt Martindale has a nursery. I will bump up the thread for you, to see his gorgeous hibscus.
hey, cat, do you get to grow these outside where you are? that thing is gorgeous.
yes. I'm in zone 9b which is still considered tropical. We typically get nights in February, in the 40's, but not usually colder than that, although that is really cold for us humans!
Cat are you playing your violin?
yes I am, lol!
But look at it this way; while you are over wintering, you can still enjoy us "Tropies" in 9 and 10 :)
Hi Rene,
It is about 10 miles north of Lady Lake. I've attached a map from Wauchula to Summerfield.
I'm going back there in January, when the new hibs are ready. I'd be coming from Melbourne and I could meet you in Orlando somewhere, which would be 1/2 the distance for both of us.
Oh Shoot, I want to come too. What great pictures. I am going to have such a long list. I better start saving my money.
i would be in heaven if i could grow this kind of flower in my yard.
Rene,
Closer to the end of January. My mom is moving in with me in January/February, so I need to finish the "handicap challenged" areas in my house. Besides, too much Christmas packing will keep me busy by the third week, or maybe I will wait till March to put my Christmas stuff away, like I did 2 years ago, LOL.
For all you Floridians, take notice....NOW! Read below :) I am probably going next week, if anyone wants to join me, or meet me there. Let me know.

Hi Cat,
I was stalling because I was thinking of going to the hibiscus show in Punta Gorda in 2 weeks but don't think I will now. So yes I am going to let go of quite a few big stockplants and also a bunch of 4"-6"--many good cv's of Duponts stuff including Voodoo Magic and Voodoo Queen and City Slicker and Mon Cher and Cosmic Dancer and Moon Madness and other stuff from others and blah blah blah---sorry there's too many for me to think of at the moment. Big stock plants(up to 3 gal) of many cv's for $12.95 and the 4" for $6.50 and 6" for $8.00 (excellent opportunity to add to collection). Let me know if you want to come over and I'll give you first pick---after that I'll advertise it online. Bring as many hib lovers as you like.
Take care,
Matt
OM Cat aren't you lucky. I would love to be able to join you. You have fun and leave some for me, I will have to check it out when he advertises.
I really wish I lived in Florida right about now!
I'm with you, ecrane!! My wish list is growing rapidly!!
If I remember right the last thread you had mentioned something about needing to make a new thread and she did referring this new thread was for you.
I could very will be wrong but thats the way I received it.
