Oct 6th RU - at Logees

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Big thanks to Dave!!!! thanks for all your help!

Reservations are made at 85 Main for 11:30 on Saturday October 6!!!
We are booked in a seperate downstairs room at this time. This would give us privacy & space HOWEVER, they charge $50 to use it (plus what you order off the menu) It will mean $4-$5 extra each, but I think it's worth it. If people feel differently, we could reserve upstairs or find another restaurant. Again, here's the link: [HYPERLINK@www.85main.com]

and we meet at Logees at 1:30pm

Attendees:

Kassia
Yankee
Candyce & Anna
Dave47
Don S
Harper
Lora
Carrie & PCA
Michaela
CapeCodGardener
Amy
Thom

See you there!

Can't wait!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry to say I will not be attending. Bummer. As I said earlier, family stuff. My Mom just turned 70 and my Dad just had surgery so they'll be spending the weekend with us. Needless to say I'm disappointed that once again I won't be meeting all you guys. I will move mountains to make it to the next one. Have a great time and take lots of photos.

Victor

Victor:

I completely understand that family comes first. You will be missed, for sure. I'll make sure I bring extra batteries for my camera, just so I don't miss a thing.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Hi,
In answer to the question in the old thread( http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4036153 ) The towns around me are Kingston, Bridgewater, Pembroke, Plympton, Carver, Middleboro, Hanson and Plymouth is two towns away.
My boss called and asked me to work a three hour shift on Saturday 8AM-10AM. So I guess I'll not be going, even if someone would've been able to give me a lift. I guess maybe next time I'll be able to go. I hope you all have fun.

Hugs,
Moe

Moe:
We will look forward to having you join us next time. Sorry you have to work.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

:(

Allison

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too, but in a manly way.

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

There is no way this is going to come out right, but, Kassia, I wasn't offering help...lol. Someone, on an earlier thread, had offered to me, via dmail, a cell number. I can't remember who it was, or whom it was. And if that person is reading this, can you please dmail me so I don't/can't/and won't get lost?
Thank you, again,
Thom
PS-I was out digging in the yard again today. Oh boy is all I can say.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Kassia:

Please remember that my DD, Anna, will also be coming to the RU.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia, I couldn't come, but now I can!!!!!! It will be me plus PCA Kirstie. I'm soming for brunch but probably not to Logee's. Did we decide on where/when/what for a swap?

Carrie

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I thought I had offered someone from north of me a ride, but don't remember who. I'll check my mail.

Billerica, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, it looks like I won't be able to go after all. DH has to leave for Denmark on Sat. morning to attend to some business. Which leave me w/out a babysitter for the day.
I hope everyone has a great time!!

LoraB

PS. I have 3 white (NoID) brugs that are looking for homes. One is very large and full of blooms. The other 2 are both about 2 1/2 feet tall. If anyone is interested in taking a roadtrip and rescuing them, please let me know via dmail. Don't want to hijack this thread, ya know.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Hem, Id love to help you out but I'm between cell phones.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Does that mean one on each ear??

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Neither one with tonight's Yankee score.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Could be worse - you could be a Mets fan! They got the right guy on the mound tomorrow though. Can you believe Lofton?? He's like 55 years old.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I know. He killed us. Stole a base too - with his walker.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Hope all of you have a great time tomorrow at the RU. The royalty earnings are up to $46.99 and that would have been perfect for the room at the restaurant, but the check is on hold for a while - have to earn at least $25.00/month to get a check otherwise they hold it till the end of the year. The first month only brought in $17.46. If I had looked at the thread earlier I would have sent a personal check for that amount, but knew I couldn't come so I didn't read the thread until today. The $$ can be used for the Spring RU. I will keep closer track of the spring RU so that I can get the $$ to someone if I can't attend. Eleanor
ps - Wish i could be there and meet everyone!! sounds like a fun time!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

(what is she talking about? the NE forum shirts?)

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Yes, Carrie. She's talking about the shirts. I still haven't ordered mine or my DD's (that's going to be one of her Christmas presents - so don't tell!!)

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Sorry I didn't explain what I was talking about. Yes I'm talking about the royalties from the sale of the NE forum T-shirts. I d-mailed Kassia to make sure I have the restaurant info correct. I'm going to call the restaurant today and see if I can put the $50 for the separate room on my credit card and then I'll reimburse myself when I get the royalty check. I wasn't totally awake before and didn't think about calling the restaurant and using my credit card. As I've said before the royalty earnings belong to the NE forum and not me - I just put together (and re-put together) the ideas that you guys gave me. Eleanor

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

You are the best Eleanor!!!!! not only got out T-shirts going and now you even pay for us to go and have fun!!!???? I wish you could come!!! One of these days I am going to visit you!!!!! no invitation needed!!!! I am a bratt and I will invite myself!!!! well, at least I have a good reputation!!!! lol!!!!!

I am so excited about tomorrow!!!! I came back from CA with 2 new addictions.... succulents and begonias !

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

You have the reputation of being a PARTY GIRL, Kassia!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

By all means!!!!

Actually for a good party all you need is a cool place with fun and nice people and good food!!!!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Hi guys!! Just talked with 85 Main Street and the room is paid for. Kassia - make sure they don't charge $50 again!!!! Eleanor

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

Ok, and guess what? You betchya...I was able to fanangle(sp?) something with one of my co-workers, and myself, and my better half (Paul), will be able to join you all for lunch/brunch/early supper/food, I just need to get the directions together and all that jazz!!!!
I went nuts, don't any of you laugh at me when you see what I bring.
Thom

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

all right!!!!! sounds great!!!!! Thom, I am glad you can make it!!!

THANKS ELEANOR!!!!!!! I will make sure!!!!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Hemhostaholic - I will be very happy to provide homes for your plant babies - especially some sweet potatoe vines. I have a whole street terrace to plant!

The info you want regarding the restaurant is from this thread. If the link doesn't work, you can just directly open the site at www.85main.com

Very nice Eleanor!

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

have a great time everyone

:(

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Same for me. How weird that it will probably be a warmer day for the Oct 6 RU than it was for the one in late June!! Have fun and take lots of pics.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Victor - were you at the one in June? Can someone bring name-tags? I'm terrible awful horrible at names!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Eleanor:
All of your NEG friends rise up and call you blessed!!
What a sweetheart you are!!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hear hear!

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Everyone that's going - have a blast! I was planning to come for the Logee's part, but this week my dd's and I have bad colds, so I'm staying put.
I hope the next one is close enough for me, too!
Enjoy!!!!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Aww - you guys are going to embarrass me. I'm glad to do it and I wouldn't feel right about keeping the royalty money. When I found out there was a royalty for every shirt sold I almost freaked out - this isn't right - it should go to the NE Forum cause we're a community. The RU is the perfect place for it to be used. Enough said, enjoy the day and you must take lots of pics and post them!! That way those of us that can't go will get a chance to meet you and share in the fun!! Eleanor

I'm used to attending long distance events in unusual ways. In August,my two daughters attended a wedding for a friend on the beach in Ventura, California. I atended the wedding via cell phone - it was real cool to hear the ceremony in California while I was sitting on my porch in upstate New York!! I even have a pic of DD #1 holding up the cell phone so I could hear. DD #1 probably wouldn't have done that if it was inside but on the beach no one minded.
