What are these???

Lilesville, NC(Zone 7b)

I don't know if this is the right forum for this, however as some of you know i LOVE and collect turtles. Well i picked these up little treasures up at a thrift store for .25 cents and well i had them just sitting in my plants but i took them out the other day and just sat and looked at them wondering what they are...they are almost 3 inches long and they are all the same. They each got there little paws or whatever you call turtles feet, well they are wrapped around a hole that goes all the way through it to the bottom. I tried to take a good pic of them but it seems that either one was to light or to dark.
I would appreciate any help anyone could give me.

June, thanks for the suggestion, my daughter suggested that as well, however they don't sit flat and they would have to be small small candles.

Are they big enough to be napkin holders???

Betty, actually they are not...i do think they are for macrame. I went to ebay and found these...just like mine except they are not turtles.

These almost look big enough to be "pencil sitters". You push the pencil through it and they decorate your pencil. Kids love 'em! :-)

kwanjin, That would be a great idea, however they are glass and rather heavy....and upon further investigation the hole in it is so big a pencil falls right through...but thanks for the great idea.

My first thought when seeing the picture was also macrame beads.
