So Robert, if that was "just a few", how many blooms would count as a lot? LOL! I don't think I ever have more than 3 blooming on the same day, guess I'm just jealous!

Hey Ecrane,

Honestly I cant tell you what alot would be but I do know in the sping if I would have been here and posted each single bloom I would have had 96 in 1 thread in 1 day. Now thats alot. So, I will stay positive and say whenever have that many again I will take groups of them. This way it will only be about 5 or 6 pics. LOL If it ever happens again. Barrry, David and Matt and Kyle for sure could knock me face down with their collections. LOL

Speaking of David here is an "Abundant Treasure" that I got from him a couple of weeks ago. Bloomed today just forgot to post it.

Cat,
Beautiful blooms!!! Blueberry thrill is taking off and stealing the show!!! I love this one. Standing ovation kinda reminds me of Curly top. Do you have a PIC of her opened all the way? Gator Pride is very nice. I love this cultivar also. Mine blooms all of the time. I just got a Cool It from David and now I get to see what it looks like. How big did the bloom get? Brugie said hers reminded her of Ladybug. Is it a Mini???? Because my ladybug is small.

Brugie,
How big of a bloom did your Cool It have?

You folks post some beautiful images, thanks.
I don't have time to post many individually, but I do have to take lots of images for my records, for patents, etc. But I often have time for shots like this, too.
enjoy . .

Hmmm . . I'm probably not using DAve's format effectively . . still cant find a post DAvid said he supplied yesterday. All these "threads" confuse me . . I ain't no seamstress, I guess . .
;-)
Said another way, I'm not crazy about the organization on this site despite the wealth of info here.
Anyhow, the photo of the hib on the table I just sent . . most of those are current seedlings awaiting sale or disposal or something. We generally study the performance of new seedlings for two years before selling rights to it or entering it a hibiscus show to try and qualify it for hibiscus of the year.
Believe it or not, making fine flowers is easy, with my forty years of experience. The hard part is pasting that fine bloom on a healthy, vigorous, attractive plant that clones easily and blooms in all seasons, including hot summers. Certainly one should never name a newly created seedling for someone dear UNTIL it has been tested over time.

A few on that table have been released and if you ask about a certain one I'll tell you what I can. Didja know that if I distribute pics of a new one with its name . . on the Net . . it can make it impossible to patent that one? Crazy, but true.
This flower IS released and Matt will be selling it. Named for my dear friend and Chiropractor and neighbor . .
peace,
Barry

Barry,
All of your blooms are spectacular, but I wouldn't expect anything less.
Robert,
My Abundant Treasure (will not name source) NEVER looked as pretty or healthy as yours. As a matter of fact, after she had 3 or 4 blooms, all her leaves fell off. She is now just starting to get tiny leaves again.

My Cool It was a good 6-7 inches. She is not a small flower, and her colors stand out from the complete opposite end of the yard. She is a true beauty. You will really enjoy her.

This is the second bloom for Standing Ovation, and, she has not opened up fully yet. Maybe the third bloom will be a charmer.

Gloria,
Welcome to our world of gorgeous flowers and fantasies.

Barry, I will try to find the thread and bump it up for you.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Barry, those are some great looking blooms. I love the one, bottom left. Very classy looking bloom.

I really have never taken a ruler outside with me, but I'll have to do that tomorrow. I don't recall that Cool It was very large and maybe it's the Iowa weather. I will check both of them, Cool It and Lady Bug, for size.

Nite now........... :-)

GREAT flowers!!

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Brugie, Robert & Cat, wow - GREAT pictures today!! I can't even pick a favorite. Cat, you must STOP taunting me with pics of Blueberry Thrill, and Patrick - I haven't seen that one before, but boy is he a looker!

Barry, gorgeous group shot! That's what I think my place should look like ALL the time, lol - is it any wonder I'm addicted??? Your new bloom is really great too.

So, am I too late to join the Friday picture party? I only had a few pics, which I grabbed just before sundown last night. We are having the weirdest weather right now! Just a couple weeks ago it was 110, now it's like winter. I'm sure we'll back with the heat soon, so I'm just gonna enjoy the storms and cool down.

My Voodoo Queen was particularly stunning last night (I think - I'm sure I'm not prejudiced or anything though). I swear, you'd think these plants are my children...

Pina Colada is such a strong and quick growing bush that it's abundance of leaves were in the way of this, her 2nd bloom. I don't know if it's the weather or just the cultivar, but I bought this as a tiny little 4" two months ago, and now it's almost outgrown the 6" pot!

Here's Molten Lava, taken a little farther away than usual so I could get both her lovely blooms :-)

Karen, great pots you have your plants in. Wish I could find stuff like that around here. Night Fire is going to be cool.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

:-)))) I'd have to say my fingernails look just like Karen's but in my case the black is under the nail. LOL

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

LOL Ardesia! Mine were black underneath all the time too when I was home, and still again on weekends ;-)

No one has ever accused me of being "normal", lol ;-)

Thanks for the pot compliment, Brugie. I go to lots of different nurseries in search of just the right pot. I know thats pretty anal of me, but I just think the right color pot makes the plant and flower look even nicer :-) I spend so much on plants, I try not to think about how much I spend on the pots they go in since they are usually twice as much as the plants, lol :-)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I can't remember which forum it was on but several California girls were talking about a place called NorCal, apparently an importer of Vietnamese pots, where they got amazing pots for next to nothing. I was so envious because they pictured a large 20" pot that they had paid $5.00 for. The same pot would be over a hundred on the east coast. I was ready to fly out there, rent a big truck and drive a few hundred pots home with me.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Ardesia, do you really believe a couple hundred new pots would be enough? Lol

Shirley, nice pictures and I love Morning Glory also. A friend was visiting in June and she had such a crush on MG, I gave it to her. After seeing yours I miss mine. Guess I'll go shopping for her again.

Barry, I'm so in love with your newly released plant, the one that looks purplish and pink. I need to find the line and post a line sitter before they are spoken for until 2010.

Karen,
Your nightfire is outstanding. Outstandingly gorgeous!!!
Oh, and the nailpolish, at first I thought it was a dogs paw, lol.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

LOL, yeah, where's my chew toy ;-)
